Denne tur er en af vores mest anbefalede i Zanzibar, der inkluderer de to (2) must-do aktiviteter i Stone Town; Prison Island (Quarantine Island) og Nakupenda Sandbank. På Prison Island vil du lære øens historie, den tidligere karantænestation også vil du være i stand til at se dyrene; Aldabra kæmpeskildpadde, dik-diks, påfugle osv. Træer og plantager, Zanzibar-døre, fængselsruiner og meget mere. Nakupenda Sandbank er en af de største sandbanker i Zanzibar. På Nakupenda kan du nyde svømning og snorkling, slappe af ved det roligste vand, frokostbuffeten, som du valgte (fisk og skaldyr eller vegetar) og meget mere. Dette er en livsoplevelse, som du ikke vil gå glip af på din Zanzibar-ferie.

På denne tur kommer vi forbi Stone Town, hvor du vil kunne se nogle af de populære seværdigheder; Old Fort, Forodhani Park, House of Wonders (Nationalmuseum), Zanzibar Port, State House osv. Det er også her, vi tager en båd til Prison Island og derefter til Nakupenda Sandbank, og senere efter turen vender vi tilbage til Stone Town.
På Prison Island vil du kunne se Aldabra kæmpeskildpadde, påfugle, Dik-dik (arter af små antiloper), fængselsruiner osv. Et interessant faktum om Aldabra Giant-skildpadden er, at de kan leve i mere end 200 år. Den ældste på Prison Island er 197 år gammel. De er et af verdens længstlevende dyr. Fængselsruiner: Dette er en bygning, der blev opført i 1983 for at være vært for Zanzibars centrale fængsel. Opførelsen af fængslet startede i 1893, samme år havde de været en koleraepidemi i Egypten, og kort efter byllepest i Bombay. Da Zanzibar var den vigtigste østafrikanske havn, besluttede myndighederne, at fængslet og andre opførte bygninger skulle holde sig klar som en karantænestation til passende kontrolforanstaltninger for fartøjer og deres passagerer for at undgå risikoen for en epidemi i Zanzibar-øgruppen.
Nakupenda er et navn givet til en sandbanke, der ligger i nærheden af StoneTown, efter Prison Island-turen går vi til Nakupenda Sandbank, hvor du vil slappe af, svømme og snorkle. Efter Nakupenda Sandbank vender vi tilbage til Stone Town med en båd og slipper dig tilbage til dit hotel/indkvartering

It was an amazing experience with them, especially our guide Ahmed who was very nice and explained everything in detail. He also accomodated our dietary preferences, as we are vegetarian and the lunch provided was delicious.
Amazing scenery, awesome fresh seafood. Considerate tour guides and drivers. The boat rides to and from the islands are small old boats so try to pack minimally.

A great day! After reading many reviews I feared the crowd but no! Everything was perfect! Prison island is top and the turtles are so amazing. What about nakupenda? My husband and I had a beautiful time with the best tour guide, Selma! The prison island was cool, the sandbank was beautiful and the lunch was delicious! The only thing is, if you get sea sick, I would not recommend! The boat ride can be very rocky! Overall, amazing excursion!
Its the memory The Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island which is located in the western part of Zanzibar Island, just off Stone Town. It takes around 25 minutes by local boat riding from the Stone Town beach. The island’s main attraction is the popular Giant Tortoises, who can live up to 200 years. In this tour, you will get a chance to explore and learn the history of these beautiful creatures and also about Prison Island itself. You will be with our expert local tour guide who will be explaining each area of interest. Apart from being a place where you can go to see the Giant Tortoises, it also is a perfect destination to do swimming, & Relaxing on the beach. Therefore after all information about the Island, then you will have time for swimming & relaxing on the beach. which lasts till now.

My family did love this trip, we had an amazing time at both places, Prison Island and Nakupenda Sandbar. Also the lunch at Nakupenda was great combinations of seafoods, if you will have Snorkeling mask, please bring it as there is a little reef where you can snorkel and enjoy the beauty of underwater.
There was a change in our tour guide at the last minute and Abuu arrived at our hotel for pickup at 9:30 AM. It was raining in Stone Town that morning and he asked if we wanted to wait. But we forged ahead to the docks and waited briefly for the food and fuel to be loaded on the boat. As soon as we left the harbor, the rain stopped and Abuu started telling us about all the islands in the area. Even though he was very young, Abu knew a lot about Prison Island and took us to see a lot of big tortoises! But the highlight of the trip was Nakupenda Sandbank. By that time, the sun came out, we took amazing photos, and swam in the clear blue water. After an hour, we were invited to a seafood feast. The lobster, prawns, and octopus were excellent; and so were the chips (fries)! We stuffed ourselves so full that we didn't even get to the fruit platter. Then the rains came back in at 3 PM and they took us back a little early to Stone Town. Sultan Tours really came through this time -- we highly suggest their services when booking this tour
