Halvdagstur til Xi'an Wild Panda Breeding and Protecting Center

Beskrivelse

Michael was a great guide and driver. He picked me up in the hotel arriving early at the panda place. It was good to be there early to be able to see the panda. He knew the way in the park ato assure seeing most panda and shared his knowledge about them. I got plenty of opportunity taking pictures. Luckily we saw most of the panda being active. This research center is not crowded. After the tour we had a great lunch eating local noodles, it was very tasty. I can highky recommend this tour.
A wonderful 1/2 day visit to the panda centre outside xian with Michael, my guide and driver. After hearing about the crowds at the Chengdu centre I was pleasantly surprised to find the xian facility almost free of tourists. Michael went out of his way to ensure I had a great time and see the pandas at their most lively part of the day. I would highly recommend this tour to all animal lovers and if you get Michael as a guide then you will be lucky indeed.
Excellent tour with Michael, he was knowledgeable about pandas and other subjects. This activity was comprised of a pickup at my hotel with a private car, a long drive to the Qinling Four Treasures Park, ample time to view and photograph the many pandas, authentic Chinese lunch, a bonus trip to the Qinling Animal Park, and finally drop off at my hotel. Some might say it was pricey for what is essentially a visit to a zoo, however if you value your time and you value seeing pandas very close their natural habitat, then it is well worth it!
Michael is great , he picked us with his car from the city and took us for a tasty 😋 lunch after the tour He is supper knowledgeable 😁 and fun to listen to Thank you Michael 😊
We had an amazing day visiting the pandas with Cathy! She is such a warm, open-minded, and gentle person — truly passionate about pandas and other animals. From the very beginning, she made us feel comfortable and welcomed. Cathy devoted her attention to our family, shared many beautiful details about her culture, and was genuinely curious about ours too. Her English is excellent, so we could easily talk about anything and everything throughout the day. The pace of the tour was relaxed and fully adapted to us — nothing felt rushed. Our driver was also very skilled. After visiting the pandas, we all went for lunch together at a local restaurant serving traditional food. It was such a great idea — sometimes you don’t know which small local places are truly good, and they picked a wonderful one! The food was delicious, and our gide helped us choose the best dishes, explaining the ingredients and their connection to Chinese tradition. The organization of the whole trip was perfect. The day before, they reconfirmed the meeting details, and everything ran on time and smoothly. A special thanks to Cathy for also giving us great tips for our evening in Xi’an — thanks to her, we managed to see the Pagoda and the Water Show in a short time!
Our guide Lily Sun and driver were great. The weather was terrible but it didn’t dampen the experience. Lily sold very good English and was knowledgeable. We moved between enclosures at the various feeding times to make the most of seeing the pandas feeding and moving. The park is well set out and my understanding it will be the biggest panda breeding programme shortly in China. We opted for lunch at the local village which was delicious and fun. A great few hours either the pandas.
Way too expensive for what is advertised. This is not a research center. It is a zoo. Very sad. I saw pandas but in the condition I was told they would be in and they refused to acknowledge this. It is also over priced. The same tour was advertised for less than half the price. This is a scam be careful. Michael was a wonderful tour guide. Look after me very well
Dear Sarah, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’d like to address some of the points you raised, as we feel your review may not fully reflect the value of the service provided. You booked a private tour for 800 RMB, which included a dedicated guide, private vehicle transportation, and a meal. We drove approximately 100 kilometers to the destination and another 100 kilometers on the return journey—a significant logistical commitment for a single guest. Regarding the panda experience, our tour description clearly states that this is a wild panda protection center housing around 15 pandas. As emphasized in our materials, sightings of pandas in the truly wild are exceptionally rare and never guaranteed. We’re glad you appreciated our guide’s service, but we hope you understand the costs involved: competitive guide fees, fuel, vehicle maintenance, and meal expenses significantly reduce our margin. You requested a 50% refund, questioning whether funds reach the pandas. While we support the panda center through entry fees, as a tour operator, we also cover staffing, operations, and business sustainability. Without fair compensation, we simply couldn’t continue offering this experience. We accommodated you as the sole guest despite operational challenges—many companies would have canceled. We prioritized your experience over profit, earning only ~100 RMB after costs. You mentioned finding a similar tour at half the price. Could you share details? Private tours for one person involve high fixed costs; we’d genuinely like to understand how such pricing is feasible. Our goal is to provide meaningful, well-managed experiences while supporting conservation. We stand by the quality of our guide and service and hope this clarifies our position. We’d welcome further discussion. Sincerely, Xi'an Food Tour
This was our last day in China, so we went to see the Panda's. Managed to see lots of Panda, was very warm so they were all in controlled temp rooms but it was so cool to see them
The Wild Panda Breeding & Protection Centre was amazing 🤩. So many pandas. Also the famous brown Panda. I took so many great photos and made great memories. The place also has other animals to see which is awesome. Michael was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and nice. I based my whole trip to China around this panda tour. I was the only person on the tour today, but Michael still ran it. Very greatful it wasn’t cancelled. Enjoyed every minute 😄.
We had a fantastic morning with the Pandas! Our guide Lilly made contact with us 2 days earlier to provide confirmation of pick up and time and she was waiting for us in our hotel lobby as promised. Our transfer van was clean, tidy and modern and Lilly gave us a running commentary of the history of Xi'an and the sanctuary we were headed to. Lilly's knowledge was second to none and she was such a lovely and helpful person. At the end of our tour we were taken back to Xi'an for lunch at a famous noodle house where we had the best noodle soup which I cannot stop thinking about now! I highly recommend this tour, getting up early was hard but so worth it as the Pandas were all out and about and we got to see them all, even the very shy brown panda Qizai! Due to the early time we did not have to fight any crowds and got view all the animals without a problem. Thank you to all.
