Jogyesa Buddhist Temple er et af de vigtigste landemærker i koreansk buddhisme, først etableret hele vejen tilbage i 1935. Templet ligger i centrum af Seoul og er dekoreret af et gammelt hvidt fyrretræ. Der er nogle vigtige trin for at komme ind i templet. Først skal du gå gennem "Iljum", som er den ene søjle port. Denne tradition opstod under Joseon-dynastiet, og byen besluttede at bringe den tilbage til genoptagelse i 1996. Soldaterne bærer farverige blå og røde uniformer og patruljerer graciøst i paladsets porte for at beskytte kongen. Traditionen er meget elegant og simpelthen smuk at se! National Palace Museum of Korea blev oprindeligt etableret som "Koreansk Imperial Museum" i 1908; det blev dog omdøbt og flyttet mange gange gennem sin historie. I dag huser museet omkring 45.000 artefakter og kongelige skatte fra Joseon-dynastiets paladser og det koreanske imperium. Derudover kan du finde 14 af Sydkoreas nationale skatte placeret her. Med 500 års historie på display, kan du få en reel fornemmelse af fortiden og opdage, hvordan det var at leve som en Joseon konge og dronning.

Our guide (Alice) was amazing, and she showed us some interesting sites. I really loved the changing of the guard ceremony, the palace grounds, and the ginseng museum (bring your wallet if you want to buy premium quality ginseng products). The driver was also great, because he had to deal with crazy traffic and street closures due to a protest going on that day. We did the half day tour, but there were others who did the full day tour, so we did not return to our meeting point.

Great half-day tour covering some of Seoul’s most important landmarks, including Jogyesa Temple, Gyeongbokgung Palace, the National Folk Museum and the Changing of the Guard Ceremony.
