It was an awesome experience. Our tour guide was a history buff and this asset was an added pleasure. He had a lot of information to share and he was funny too which was enjoyable.

Things to note: This tour takes you to the palace and Sintra. 1. You will need to purchase your own tickets to the palace. 2. You do not see the inside of the palace only the exterior. It is also windy near the top. 3. You get time about 60-75 minutes in Sintra. It was crowded with tourists and tour groups. 4. Go in the morning, as temperatures will be cooler and traffic will increase as the day unfolds. This tour was average. If you just want Sintra and the palace a half day away was ideal.

The tour included a stop at the park of the Sintra castle. The time allocated for visiting the park does not allow for an interior visit of the castle. The popularity of the interior visit means there is a wait. Additionally, you must add the cost for visiting the park and the castle. The stop at the village of Sintra is pleasant. There are many people circulating, but the atmosphere and the shops are enjoyable. We would have liked more explanation about the sumptuous castles and villas that abound in this region. The tour is in a small group, which makes the transport enjoyable. Water is provided, and a stop to taste homemade cherry liqueur is included in the tour.
Anil, our guide, was professional, highly knowledgeable and a great driver. He had good energy and shared fun historical facts about the area. Pena Palace and Sintra are must-see spots and I highly recommend booking a tour instead of dealing with logistics directly especially if traveling with older parents or children.

This half day tour to Sintra town & palace was stress free and just the right amount of time for us. It was a small group tour, in a modern Mercedes van with Aircon & our guide, Firat, was friendly & professional & made everyone feel comfortable. Sintra & palace can get VERY busy but our guide knew all the tricks to bypass the crowds. We received great info & got some free time in both spots to enjoy on our own. Cost wise, there were a number of cheaper Sintra tours on offer, but in our opinion this one was well worth it for the ease and comfort of the day & not feeling 'herded' around in big crowds in the heat.

We had our tour with Olcay and Paulo (driver). It happened to be raining hard with my two toddler nephews and Olcay and Paulo were wonderful. They helped pivot their usual tour to accommodate the weather and our tour. They were communicative, on time and very knowledgeable. We’d definitely recommend this trip. If you can do a full day, it’d be worth it but this was all the time we had available for this excursion.
