- Garanterer du en vandhval svømning? Nej. Vi svømmer kun, når havforhold, synlighed og hvalens adfærd gør det sikkert og respektfuldt. Hvis ikke, nyder vi overfladebesøg og premium lagune steder (skildpadder, koral haver, stråler / wreck). Hvor stærk en svømmer skal jeg være? For hval svømning, skal du være komfortabel fin-svømning i det åbne hav i et hurtigt tempo i korte intervaller. Hvis du foretrækker, kan du bo på båden eller snorkle kun i beskyttede områder. Hvor mange gæster er der om bord? Lille gruppe, max 6 gæster. Hvad er inkluderet? Premium masker/snorkler/finer, våddragt, håndklæder, drikkevarer og en let frokost/snack. Hvor mødes vi? Vi bekræfter den nøjagtige mødested og tid aftenen før. Vær venlig at ankomme 10 minutter før. Hvad sker der, hvis vi ikke ser hvaler? Vi fokuserer på de bedste lagoon oplevelser (skildpadder, koral haver, stråler / wreck) for at sikre en mindeværdig dag. Er turen velegnet til nervøse svømmere? Ja – ingen tryk at komme ind i vandet. Vores guide bringer dig, forbliver tæt i vandet, og vi har ekstra flotation hjælpemidler.

Passionate captain and guide. We did a bit of cruising around before the whales were spotted by another guide boat, who called our crew to let them know where to steer. (While waiting, we saw spinner dolphins playing around the boat as we left harbor) Once we got into the water, we were able to swim parallel with a mom and juvenile humpback whales. It was incredible! Our guide even heard a whale surfacing behind us. We were just in time to see a third whale join mama and baby, swimming right below us.

Seeing dolphins, whales and eagle rays has never been so magical. Teiki, so thoughtful and passionate, lives every moment with wonder and transmits this emotion to us with every breath. When a whale pops up or a dolphin dances around the boat, you feel lucky to be there, fully present. He listens to everyone, and sharing a ma’a tahiti with him makes the experience even warmer and more unique. Thanks to it, nature becomes alive, vibrant, and every moment remains etched in the heart.

This excursion must go to the top of your list. From the moment we stepped on the boat everything was first class! Our guide Teiki spent a lot of time giving the small group a great understanding of the animals. The safety training and care of his passengers was very evident. He spent time with everyone explaining how we would approach the whales to have an experience we wouldn’t forget but most importantly giving us the understanding that we have to be calm to not disturb the animals. We were extremely lucky to come across a mother and baby calf. You can tell that Teiki has a special understanding of the animal as well as the habitat. We were able to observe at a safe distance to make the whales feel safe and for the small group to have an experience of a lifetime. We could have ended the trip there but Teiki and his captain brought us to another spot showing us the elegant eagle rays. Although this trip was booked for an allotted time, we never felt rushed and we went well over the scheduled time. Teiki loves what he does and you can tell it’s in his heart to take extra care of the animals while showing his passengers an unforgettable experience. If you schedule any excursion on your trip to Tahiti, make sure this one is on the top of your list. We were made to feel like friends, not like an other charter guest.

Teiki the guide and Herehia the captain are very welcoming and interesting. Teiki gave me a GoPro with a stick so that I could film my Whale swimming session myself. So cool.

Swimming with the whales with Teiki was absolutely amazing! We got so close to these incredible animals — it was an experience I’ll never forget. The group was small, and we spent so much time in the water, far more than any other provider I’ve seen. After the whale experience, we even saw eagle rays gliding gracefully through the water, which was the perfect ending to an incredible day. Teiki was knowledgeable, kind, and truly passionate about what he does. Couldn’t recommend this experience enough!

A sea trip of remarkable quality, combining professionalism and authenticity. Teiki and her team were able to build real confidence with clear explanations of how the day unfolded and how to launch with the whales. In the water, we felt serene and accompanied at every moment. As I live in Tahiti, I made sure to book a whale watching tour to catch a glimpse of the humpbacks before the season closes in mid-November. Despite being late in the season, the tour with Wild Explorer Tahiti was truly rewarding! After a Polynesian warm welcome upon boarding complete with beautiful leis, the tour offered a mix of education on whale behavior, cultural facts rooted in Polynesian tradition, and respect of safety protocols—for both us and the animals. We came across a young male humpback we were able to observe on the surface from the boat. He put on quite a show, flapping his massive tail repeatedly in what the guide identified as a display likely meant to attract a female. Even though we did not get to observe it underwater, the most moving part for me came when we got in the water and heard his song echoing in the deep sea… that powerful, ethereal sound brought an intense feeling of being close to nature and reminded me of Luc Besson’s movie “The Big Blue”. This experience was deeply moving and showcased the company's commitment to ensuring their guests have a truly fantastic day. I will absolutely be booking with Wild Explorer Tahiti again and would recommend them without hesitation.

Incredible experience and top team! Māuruuru Teiki! Small group outing where everything is planned! Attention to each group member and attention to detail:) Equipment (including wetsuits very pleasant to wear!), slide for launching, towels, snack, drinks and even welcome necklaces! Result the day was perfect! We had the chance to see dolphins, whales and turtles! I recommend without hesitation!
