Francisco exceeded expectations. His deep knowledge of history and passion for his country makes him unique. We discussef well beyond landmarks, and now I feel that I know much more about this beautiful city and country. I highly recommend this tour.

While parts of this Guatemala City tour were fascinating, it ultimately left me disappointed—especially because of the guide's hateful comments about indigenous people. The focus was almost entirely on the city's European influences, particularly its religious and architectural history. Francisco, the guide, was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about these topics, but his narrative ignored and actively dismissed Guatemala's indigenous heritage and modern cultural diversity. To make matters worse, his breath smelled like alcohol, which perhaps explains why he felt so comfortable sharing his inexcusable and unfiltered commentary despite my clear discomfort. The guide's remarks about Indigenous communities were condescending and harmful. He framed their struggles as "lies" and ignorance rather than responses to systemic challenges. This one-sided approach reduced the city's rich history—from its pre-Hispanic roots in Kaminaljuyu to its contemporary stories—to a narrow focus on European influence only. While he briefly mentioned a weaving tradition at Mercado Central, his refusal to meaningfully engage with Indigenous culture left the tour feeling incomplete and biased. I cannot recommend this tour if you want a nuanced and inclusive perspective on Guatemala City's history.
A) I ve wrote you down before the tour begins and you didn´t answer back. its something disrispectful, B) I tell you about the danger to walk alone in that place and you make at your own way, C) I offer to you go to see the fruits market and you already seen it you said, and about the history is the history of the country is the truth, yes you said right european influence because was a walking tour not included Kaminal Juyu, not Included Relif Map by the way I even have the courtesy to point other places of interest in the city, and seems was not enough for you, a narrow? well why you didn´t tell all this meanwhile we were having a walking tour? and you use a comupter for talk on a bad way of a company that has many good coments? Did you know how the mayan people are? you can tell everyone? negative coments or the truth? Narrow part well you had the option of ask, if you have hesitates and you didn´t ask, why I was telling that and now, you put this review a negative one by the way when you want to know more you have to ask, not just give a point of view and talk in a bad way, of a company that has many good reviews, because people ask, and you didn´t, all I can say is God bless you and thank you for you review. And by the way I rather the coments on the face not behind a screen! I told the truth because I live here and I know how the things are, if you had the time just to talk about the bad things tell everyone the good ones too
I booked this at fairly short notice and with only 1 person, Francisco was happy to do the trip with just me which was good of him. Communication was good prior the tour and the tour itself was very informative. I recommend this if you want to learn about Guatemala City.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and very passionate about the city's history, the culture, and the current challenges that they face as a country. The tour was automatically confirmed when we booked it. We were charged. We showed up at the location at the correct time. But the tour operator never showed, never notified up, and didn’t even bother to cancel. We had very limited time in the city, so this was not just disappointing but very disrespectful of our plans and time. I do not recommend this company!
Well before acuse someone like you are doing, reach out the truth, and the truth is this; Viator was showing problems in suppliers page, and we get the notification until september 5th our surpirse? wasn´t enough for you put only one review you put two bad reviews to our company. Fact you had the phone number for contact us and put agree with us for begin the tour. Fact you didnt try the tour for use this arguments against our company, Fact you talk about respect, what you did is very disrespectful too, because we can see that you only want to do the damage to our company with out having notice of what happened and you didn´t made the effort to reach out the whatsapp of the company, the respect is earned not demanded, thanks to this we change our policies too. If were a fault of us we take the bad reviews of course is of humans make a mistakes but on this case, no, we dont because you are not taking your responsability on this.
I had a lot of fun during this tour, Francisco is very knowledgeable & friendly, the tour outside was great but also inside the churches and their history, the post office and its story, all of it was great and the special local coffee place was a cherry on top!

We spent a pleasant time with Francisco, our very informative guide who showed us around Zona 1, the oldest part of Guatemala City. We received wonderful explanations of many churches and sites central to Guatemalan history. We shared a delicious corn pie and coffee at Leon coffee shop. We also tried and loved a savory special tamale with an herb found only in Guatemala. Overall a nice way to pass an afternoon. We would recommend Francisco.
