Denne 14-15-timers tur besøger Khor Virap kloster med sin storslåede udsigt til det bibiske bjerg Ararat. Næste stop er ved klosterkomplekset Noravank, som er unikt i sin konstruktion, da Guds Hellige Moders Kirke er det eneste to-etagers kloster i Armenien. Dernæst er Tatev-klosteret, et åndeligt center, der havde enestående videnskabelig og politisk betydning. Klosteret er omgivet af smuk natur. På vej tilbage fra Tatev vil du tage verdens længste svævebane uden stop "Tatever".

Khor Virap er det mest berømte pilgrimssted i Armenien, da det er direkte forbundet med adoptionen af kristendommen. Som en statsreligion blev kristendommen i Armenien vedtaget i 301 på grund af indsatsen fra den hellige Gregory Illuminator, som, før kong Trdat III konverterede til kristendommen, blev fængslet i dungeonen, over hvilken en kirke af Khor Virap kloster blev bygget i det 17. århundrede. Fra klosteret kan man beundre den fantastiske udsigt over det bibelske bjerg Ararat.
Passerer en smal vej, omgivet af sten af hundrede huler, man opdager en scene af harmoni af arkitektur med naturen. Klosteret, der er indhyllet i fine arkitektoniske løsninger og luksuriøse udsmykninger, er et af de lyseste eksempler på armensk arkitektur i det 13. århundrede. Noravank består af St. Karapet, St. Gregory The Illuminator kirker og St. Astvatsatsin (Hellige Guds Moder) to-etagers kirke, som er kendt for sit ideelle konstruktive og skulpturelle arbejde.
Kirkeklokker ringede højt i Tatev den 16. oktober 2010, forkyndende lanceringen af et program til at genoplive et middelalderligt klosterkompleks og åbningen af "Vingene af Tatev" Ropeway. Den 5,7 km lange ropeway, der blev bygget i løbet af 11 måneder, passerer gennem en dyb kløft af floden Vorotan og over bakker, dækket af frodige skove. Sporvognen er understøttet af tre tårne mellem sine to terminaler. En terminal er på en bakke, med udsigt over landsbyen Halidzor og den anden er nær Tatev kloster, på vej til landsbyen Tatev. To hytter opererer samtidig, rejser i modsatte retninger. Der er 6 kabler i alt (3 for hver kabine), hver unikt forudsat for specifikationerne i dette projekt. Inden for omkring 11 minutter en sporvogn hytte tager passagerer, 30 ad gangen, fra landsbyen Halidzor til den storslåede kompleks af Tatev.
Blandt de arkitektoniske søjler i Zangezour har klosteret af Tatev ikke sine "rivaler". Det var det rigeste middelalderkloster i Armenien. Ud over at være et religiøst center, var Tatev også det vigtige strategiske centrum for Syunik-riget. At være beliggende på et naturligt forsvaret sted, Tatev kloster har altid været en uforgængelig fæstning for udlændinge. Under ustabile politiske forhold førte flere hemmelige veje i fæstningens område til kanionen og tjente som en forbindelse mellem klosteret og den ydre verden.

We had a wonderful time on the Tatev Tour with Edward as our guide and Aro as our driver. It was a long day, but it was fun from start to finish and well worth it. Eduard was an excellent guide. The driver Aro was great as well. We had sufficient time to explore after the guided tour. Eduard would give interesting knowledge during the drive itself. Hyur is a great operator, we would do it again for sure!

The tour guide MARINA was very good. Very emphatic. Very resilient. , when we had a cloud and thunders when we got to the cable car we waited until it was gone and did it. She didn’t cancel it immediately and I was very happy that thanks to her we did it eventually. Not only that. How she managed to move between the English speakers and Russian speakers and manage all the things I thought it was very impressive. . About the places they were very impressive. Very long day but it was worth it. I liked that we had a big bus on this tour with ports to charge your iPhone , and WiFi. Thanks marina for a great trip.

This was one of the most memorable day trips of my visit to Armenia and another excellent experience with Hyur Service. The itinerary covered some of the country's most iconic and breathtaking destinations, including Khor Virap, Noravank and Tatev Monastery, each offering a unique perspective on Armenia's history, culture and natural beauty. A special thank you to our guide, Marina, who was knowledgeable, friendly and engaging throughout the day. Her explanations helped bring the history of each site to life, and she ensured the group was well informed and comfortable at every stop. The journey was smooth and well organised, making it easy to relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery along the way. Khor Virap offered magnificent views of Mount Ararat, and I was fortunate to see the mountain in crystal-clear weather. Noravank was stunning, with its dramatic red canyon setting and beautiful medieval architecture. The highlight of the day was Tatev Monastery and the Wings of Tatev ropeway, where the combination of history, engineering and breathtaking mountain landscapes created an unforgettable experience. The tour was very well paced, with enough time at each stop to explore, take photographs and appreciate the surroundings. The constantly changing scenery, from the Ararat Plain to deep canyons, mountain valleys and spectacular viewpoints, showcased the incredible diversity of Armenia. I highly recommend both this tour and Hyur Service to anyone visiting Armenia. It is a long day, but every kilometre is worth it, and it provides an outstanding introduction to Armenia's history, culture and natural beauty.

This day tour was very well-organized, with an experienced driver and guide who maintained a good pace. The guide's English was excellent. We visited Khor Virap Monastery, Noravank Monaster, and Tatev Monastery in one day, with ample time allocated to each site. The tour guide Karen is very educated, as a scholar, continuously introducing various attractions along the way, learning a lot. The driver brother Aro opened the road very well and very smooth. Today saw a beautiful landscape, there are snow mountains, there are grasslands, and the flowers of the wilderness are also beautiful. The Tatev Monastery is very spectacular.
