En fantastisk smuk park med en stor overflod af eksotiske træer
Den sidste destination for denne cykeltur i Valencia vil være helt til slutningen af denne smukke park. De imponerende bygninger i City of Arts and Sciences blev bygget af den valencianske arkitekt Santiago Calatrava og Felix Candela. I 1996 startede opførelsen af dette enorme kompleks, og i 2005 blev Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia indviet som den sidste bygning af Spaniens 12 skatte.
Oceanographic er et oceanarium beliggende i den østlige del af Valencia, Spanien, hvor forskellige marine habitater er repræsenteret. Det blev tegnet af arkitekten Félix Candela og de strukturelle ingeniører Alberto Domingo og Carlos Lázaro. Det er integreret inde i det kulturelle kompleks kendt som Ciutat de les Arts i de la Ciències (City of Arts and Sciences). Det blev åbnet den 14. februar 2003.

We rented two bikes for two days in Valencia and took part in a private tour through the city's major attractions. Guide available and prepared and new and very comfortable bikes. Good price. Absolutely recommended

I’ve done city tours in just about every major European city, so I’ll admit I didn’t expect anything groundbreaking from Valencia. But I was pleasantly surprised by this one. What really made the difference was the way the information was delivered light, engaging, full of stories, local legends, and just the right amount of humor. No boring lectures, no dates to memorize. Historical facts I can always find on Wikipedia. What I want from a group tour is atmosphere, a bit of socializing, and insights from someone who actually lives here. That’s exactly what I got. David struck a great balance between being informative and entertaining, and the route itself gave a solid overview of the city both the highlights and a few lesser-known corners. It was a smart choice to go with Pelican. Definitely one of the better tours I’ve done lately.

Tuesday 17 June 2024, Rented 2 E bikes with a guide. Great bikes and had a great day. We had to be at Pelican Bikes at 11:00. Our guide, David, was already waiting for us when we arrived at 10:45. First we went through the map of Valencia and, at his request, made our wishes known. The bike tour with our guide lasted 3 hours, but because we had booked the bikes until 20:00, David adjusted his tour accordingly. Great. David, born and raised in Valencia himself, first showed us around the old part and was able to tell us a lot about the history of Valencia in a fantastic and humorous way. After this we cycled into the "Jardin del Turia" where we were explained how and why this garden was built. Nice stories and anecdotes about architect Santiago Calatrava, the designer of the park. Furthermore, a lot about the themes, the buildings and the bridges in the park. At 13:00 we were taken by David to the harbour where our tour ended. Our guide gave us some tips to continue cycling along the beach and to cycle back via a beautiful route. All in all a very nice tour with a wonderfully pleasant guide and very nice bikes. This was a superb experience, David was an excellent guide and he knew so much about Valencia and it’s history. The tour was for 3 hours, which was perfect. David has inspired us to visit a number of the sites that we rode past. A great experience!
