This excursion was outstanding. Johnny Arizona, his humor and history stories made the adventure well worth the trip. I would recommend the trip to everyone! Thank You for making it a Great trip!!

The railway from Williams to the south rim of the canyon is truly a great way to make a day out of the experience. With six classes of ticket it provides value for money. We chose the Luxury Parlour on the way up and first class on the way down. The staff on board are incredibly engaging and make the experience fun. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting the canyon for the first time as it takes all the stress of driving away and allows you to focus on enjoying the views.

We made a good choice picking the first class seats with lunch and bus tour. I started to rain and the bus kept us nice and dry and we were fortunate enough to have the rain tapper off when the bus stopped so we could get out and take pictures. The train ride was comfortable with drink and snacks provided, the entertainment was ok, we could have done with out it and just enjoyed a quiet ride. Make sure you bring tip money, we didn’t bring enough and ran out but definitely saved enough for the cabin Stewart at the end, she did the most work and enjoyed her stories.

Great time, all staff did a great job Only thing I would say is when it is raining open the train for boarding. Do not make people stand outside because you have a boarding time

Entertaining way to kill time on the train (variety of entertainers. Please note time on ticket is when it leaves the station and the barcode tix they send have to go to office to convert to actual tickets!

We had a GREAT time! We went with family and kids, elderly family, pregnant family, young men and all had a terrific experience

Obstructed view from our 1st class seats, no option of sitting in the observation deck. I honestly felt like we were riding in a cattle car!

A train ride filled with beautiful scenery and entertainment. It's helpful if you can climb some steep steps getting on and off the train otherwise there is a lift if you need help.

Very enjoyable and the highlight was Johnny Arizona's songs and jokes and interaction with passengers, especially the kids. He is a true gem and made memories of a lifetime for us and our granddaughter.

For the first time in my life, I've visited the true pride of Arizona! The biggest, widest, probably deepest hole in the state...The Grand Canyon!! My family and I slept at a hotel right near the train station, and as we woke up, got dressed, got some breakfast, and walked outside, we actually walked right in the middle of a gunslinger performance outside on a little Wild West dirt set! I've seen one before when my family and I went to Donley's Wild West Town, but we unfortunately didn't make it right to the beginning of this one. After the show, we walked over to the large old train, and after a little bit of waiting, we boarded, and took off to the Grand Canyon! The total time for the trip was 2 hours, but we still had lots to be entertained with. There was a small snack/food car right at the end, we had a couple musicians entertain us with some songs, and on our way back...the evil gunslingers from before came aboard to rob us! Fortunately, the good minded, super skilled sheriff was right on their tails! Outside, we came by many amazing sights, which our hostess and guide pointed out for us as we rode. She told us about the history of the train, and about the small villages of people who lived right near the tracks. We saw some prairie dogs at one point on the trip, perhaps a few four legged animals between the woods, and a train lot, where workers were restoring and fixing up old trains to a somewhat original state of operation, giving new life to them! When we arrived at the Canyon, the adventure truly began! While we didn't travel all the way to the bottom of the Canyon (where my parents suspected was where you could make some good echoes!), we enjoyed traversing the trails around the top. Dad and I took a separate trail, running into a mule or two that were walking along the trails, and being careful not to step in the doo-doo they left behind! Up on the surface, away from the Canyon, we stopped in a few shops, getting some lunch, looking at merchandise, and stopping for bathroom breaks. When our grand adventure finished, we boarded the train for one more 2 hour trip back to our station and hotel. For those who wish to travel to the Grand Canyon, definitely travel there on the Grand Canyon Railway; the trip will make it so much more fun and exciting, and make the sights you see at the Canyon all worthwhile! It's the best way to remember a truly historical landmark on Earth!
