Godafoss og skovlagunen
Beskrivelse
Tag med os på en kort lille gruppetur til det berømte Goðafoss-vandfald, et af de mest populære turistmål i det nordlige Island. På vej tilbage til Akureyri kører vi langs kysten af Eyjafjordur, en af de længste fjorde i Island, hvor du kan se over fjorden til Akureyri og tag et godt billede. Derfra stopper vi ved Forest Lagoon, et geotermisk spa-resort beliggende overfor Akureyri. Det omfatter infinity-pools med poolbarer, en sauna og et koldt karbad og tilbyder en fantastisk udsigt over Eyjafjordur-fjorden.

Goðafoss-vandfaldet er et af de smukkeste vandfald på Island. Tilnavnet gudernes vandfald på grund af dets historie. I år 1000 gjorde Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði kristendommen til Islands officielle religion og fortsatte med at kaste sine gudestatuer i vandfaldet. Vandet falder fra en højde på 12 meter over en bredde på 30 meter.

Reynir was a great guide. He stopped off at the viewpoint on the fjord to enable us to snap some pictures and enroute to the Godafoss waterfall. Spent an hour taking in the watery sights and then to the Forest Lagoon for prepaid 2 hours of calm and relaxation. We learnt a lot Reynir thank you!

We had the most amazing time visiting the Godafoss waterfall and being able to experience the Forest Lagoon & Spa. We were blessed to have Reynir (tour guide) take us to and from both Godafoss and the Forest Lagoon as he was very informative, friendly and patient which we both appreciated. Prior to going, he made contact via email to keep us in the loop which was great and gave us plenty of time to explore whilst letting us know plenty of information about the history and geography of the area. Should we ever return, we’d very much use Star Travel for our excursions!

Incredible experience! We were the only people booked on, so it was like having a private tour! Our guide took us to all the best viewing spots for photos, gave us time to see things that we wanted to see and finishing the day in the Lagoon was perfect! Would recommend!

Our guide Krista was incredible! Smart, funny and informative. The waterfall was amazing and the forest lagoon was most relaxing. I would recommend the forest lagoon over the blue lagoon near Reykjavik for sure. Much less crowded much less expensive.

The experience was not as described. The waterfall allowed 40 minutes Vaolaheioi Utsynispallur did not happen… We were dropped at the forest lagoon (but not picked back up). The falls were beautiful, and the lagoon was great… tour was just not as described.
