We heard about the GoCar tours from a recommendation from friends. We visited GoCar on June 23rd and received great advice and a lot of help from the very nice young lady working that day. We decided on the 3-hour tour in a slingshot. We loved it! The narration/navigation was very good and even humorous at times The slingshot was so much fun and added to the experience. We would definitely tour with GoCar again!
The staff was friendly and accommodating with risk of rain the day of the reservation. The GoCar experience was really fun and allowed us flexibility to explore all over San Diego within the allotted time period. We made great memories and had a lot of fun.
What a fun way to explore San Diego. The people running the shop were so helpful and informative. We felt the prices were reasonable. We had more than enough time to explore and make the most of our tour. You get a GPS system, with your rental, that gives very clear driving instructions, as well as history and information at multiple points of interest. Very much worth taking this excursion
This was a great experience! The cars were super fun and easy to drive. GPS navigation system was perfect. Sights seen were stunning and the gentleman we dealt with at GoCar was awesome. The whole experience was great and we would do it again in another city if the opportunity ever came up. Well done GoCar!
Best self guided tour my wife and I have ever taken. It was an absolute blast! Fun to drive, fantastic weather, great way to see the city and learn about San Diego landmarks and history. I want to try this in every city they operate.
If you’re looking for a super fun way to see San Diego, you’ve got to try a GoCar tour. These little yellow cars—think part go-kart, part smart car—make sightseeing feel like a real adventure. What a great way to see Coranado. . The best part? There’s a GPS audio guide built right in. It chats with you, shares cool facts, and points out what you’re seeing. We can honestly say we had a blast. If you want to do more than just hop on a bus or a boat, definitely check out the GoCar
Must do! It was very fun. It brought us around to many places and things we didn’t have time to see otherwise!!
What an amazing way to see San Diego. We drove all the way to Point Loma Lighthouse just by following the gps prompts. The historic stories were a bonus. We had so much fun we went out again and did the Coronado loop.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience! We're thrilled to hear you made it all the way out to the Point Loma Lighthouse—such an iconic San Diego landmark with unbeatable views. It’s awesome that the GPS-guided storytelling added a fun, historic layer to your adventure. Hitting the Coronado loop afterward is a perfect way to round out the day! Exploring the city like this really is one of the most unique and fun things to do in San Diego. Hope to see you back for another ride soon!
The whole process was easy and the owners were great. The padres game was about to let out and he suggested another option so we didn’t get stuck in traffic and need more time. Glad he did because where we went was amazing! Would do this again for other tours.
Having someone local guide you with tips like avoiding post-game traffic makes a huge difference—and it’s that kind of flexibility that makes GoCar Tours such a smart way to explore San Diego. Being able to pivot and still discover something amazing is part of what makes each ride feel unique. Perfect for those who want a more personal, stress-free way to see the city’s highlights and hidden corners.
Was ok. I did not drive. You are driving with traffic FYI. Small motor loud and no too much power but I was fine with that. No reverse you have too get out and push not a big deal its light. Scenery is amazing. Not my cup of tea but its nice.
Appreciate the honest take—it really helps others get a feel for what to expect. Timing can make a big difference, especially when it comes to traffic and how busy the roads feel. Sorry to hear the experience wasn’t quite your thing, but glad you still found the scenery worthwhile. The GoCars are designed to be lightweight and simple, though the lack of reverse and the engine sound can be a surprise if you’re not expecting it. Totally fair that it’s not for everyone, but we’re glad you gave it a try and hope parts of the ride still stood out in a good way.
