Rejseplan
I 1477 siges Christopher Columbus at have tilbedt her forud for sin episke opdagelsesrejse!
Turen går nu tilbage mod det gamle middelaldersted - The Hall of the Red Earl.

My husband and I took a 2 hour walking tour of Galway and saw everything. We were very interested in learning the history as both our family names were members of the 14 original tribes of Galway. Gerard, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to make sure we saw everything and had a good experience. I highly recommend
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It was a real pleasure to welcome you both to Galway and to share the fascinating story of the city's history, especially the connections of the Lynch and Darcy families to the famous Tribes of Galway. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the city tour. Your recommendation is greatly appreciated and means a great deal to a local guide. Wishing you many happy memories of your time in Galway, and I hope to welcome you back again in the future. Warm regards, Gerard.
Gerard was wonderful!! He called early before our tour and suggested we move the time a little later as the rain was due to stop. Right on cue, the tour started and rain stopped. Gerard was excellent introducing us to the new and old Galway and told us some interesting Irish facts that we hadn’t heard before. A wonderful informative walk on a soft Irish day 😄. Thanks Gerard!
Many thanks Sidney and Marie for taking the time to leave Gerard at Western Tours and Tales (WTT) a 5-Star rating and such encouraging feedback on your recent visit to Galway. We’ve worked hard to offer our guests the best experience possible and your comments make it all worthwhile. We sincerely appreciate your business and hope you both enjoy the remainder of your stay in Ireland West. Best regards, Western Tours team, Galway.
The tour with Gerard was very nice and informative. While Galway was very busy it is a cool historic city. We learned a lot. We also had plenty of time the rest of the day to take in what the city offers in food, drink and shopping.
Many Thanks, Kim for the nice feedback and recommendation. I'm glad you and Mike enjoyed our Historic city walking experience during your recent Galway visit. Galway is indeed a bohemian city with a culturally rich atmosphere. Saturdays can be particularly busy as the Saturday markets take place then. Hope you both enjoyed the rest of your time in Ireland's mid-West and had a safe onward flight. Best Regards, Ger Tour leader
Ger was a very nice and knowledgeable guide. We learned many interesting and exciting facts about the history and lore of Galway. I would highly recommend a tour of Galway with Ger as your guide.

Ger is brilliant! The tour was really good and he gave us lots of facts, some of which I didn't know! It's not my first time in Galway, however Ger still took me to places I had not been before, and gave me information about every location. He knows his facts very well and made the tour interactive, answering all of our questions about the city and its history. I would definitely recommend it, especially due to his friendliness and knowledge!
Hello again Henry, Thanks so much for taking the time to leave Western Tours and Tales such encouraging feedback. We like getting our guests involved in the experience and thanks for your kind remarks. If you or friends are back in Galway again, we'd love to host you. Best Wishes, Ger WTT Galway.
A brilliant walking tour explaining about the history of Galway. Ger is very knowledgeable on the history of the city and the country as a whole and the interaction we had with him was brilliant. A great tour and a wonderful way to find out more about Galway.

We really enjoyed our tour of Galway with Ger. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and fun. We learned a lot about this history of Galway and of Ireland as a whole while we strolled the streets of the city. The tour included a variety of sites and really helped us get our bearings so that we could explore further on our own during the rest of our stay in Galway. We highly recommend this tour!
Hello again Lisa, Thanks for sharing your feedback on your family's recent Walking tour of Galway. I loved your review and the beautiful photos you captured. I enjoyed guiding you around the city , highlighting the John F Kennedy and Boston connection with Galway. Hope you also benefited from some of the many fish and vegetarian restaurants we passed along the route. Wishing you and family safe flights on the remainder of your vacation! Ger Considine, Tour Guide, Galway.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Had a good time learning about Galway and its history.
Many thanks for your nice review, Ana. It was a joy showing you and Tim around a busy Galway weekend with many tourism attractions. We sincerely appreciate your business and valuable feedback on your recent visit.
Gerrard helped us understand Galway’s complex and interesting history. Highlights included the stories behind important buildings and architectural details, notable restaurants and pubs, and written Gaelic words on prominent shops. We learned a lot, and enjoyed discussing our (and Gerard’s) family roots.
Many thanks for your kind comments, Jim. I also enjoyed showing you and family around Galway and covering a little of the Gaelic backstory. Galway was named the European Region of Gastronomy in 2018 and the European Capital of Culture in 2022. We passed many food an drink outlets along the route and hope you got to check out some of my recommendations before you left the city. I'd also like to wish ye safe travel back to Wisconsin! We were paired with another couple despite signing up for a private tour (the explanation was that the agency was short on guides). Our guide, Gerard, seemed inexperienced and often was lacking in-depth knowledge about the sites we visited. He sometimes stopped in places that seemed ill-advised (e.g., narrow sidewalks where we were blocking foot traffic). He sometimes seemed impatient with us when we wanted to stop longer at a particular location.
Hello GotNoMansion, You did not post this under Booking name but are assuming you were with us this week. We appreciate your business and thanks for taking the time to leave this review. All feedback is important to our Tour Guiding service, be it positive or negative, as in this case. I would like to apologize for any shortfalls you encountered while with us. You rightly said that you expected a private Tour but ultimately had to share with another couple. This is a valid point and in this case my guiding colleague rang me at short notice stating that she was unwell and was unavailable to work that morning. I was unable to find a replacement guide at short notice and I myself explained this situation before the start of this particular tour. To solve this issue for future travellers, I have asked Guides who work with us to make sure Western Tours and Tales (WTT) receive at least 4hrs. notice if they are assigned but unavailable to work at a particular tour. I have over seven years experience of guiding Tourists both on City walking tours, Riverboat sightseeing cruises and Celtic Revival tour and am not quite sure how you found me ‘inexperienced’. I do ask at regular intervals if guests any questions on the interesting content and if there’s no follow-up, we move on to the next attraction – during this particular tour, I do not remember you asking any relevant question on my content! You were visiting a city, some of who’s landmarks and medieval buildings are indeed on narrow and busy streets. At times these locations need to be carefully navigated which we advise our guests about . I do hope you enjoyed the remainder of your stay in Ireland’s mid-West.
