Full day of glacier and sealife viewings. The captain was informative and kept us at each sight long enough for everyone onboard to get an excellent view.
This is one of my favorite things we did on our month long trip to Alaska. I love glaciers and this is my favorite that we saw on our trip. Watching the calving was incredible. We got so close to it. We also saw whales breaching, puffins, bald eagles, seals, and sea lions.
My partner and I did a 19 day Alaska adventure with multiple planned excursions. We both agree this was our favorite hands down. This tour takes you by surprise in how much it offers. We saw 6 different pods of whales, orcas, sei whales, humpback whales, sea lions, sea otters, seals, eagles, other rare birds, glaciers, glacier created terrain, the list goes on and on. The tour itself is amazing, easily one of the most special experiences I’ve ever had. The crew was delightful. They have snacks, binoculars for rent, and a complimentary lunch that was actually very enjoyable. The captain was truly a delight. His voice was that of a nature documentary narrator, and he knew everything about everything going on around us. It was so interesting to learn about the wildlife and terrain around us. If you had to do one planned excursions in Alaska, it would be this one. Thank you Kenai Fjords Tours for an unforgettable experience!

This was an absolutely incredible tour and one I would recommend to everyone visiting Alaska! Every moment was unforgettable, from cruising through the stunning Resurrection Bay and past Spire Point to witnessing the breathtaking beauty of both Aialik and Holgate Glaciers. The wildlife sightings alone made this experience unforgettable. We saw whales, sea lions, seals, puffins, and even colorful starfish. One of the most awe-inspiring moments was watching a massive piece of Aialik Glacier calve into the water. It's something I'll never forget, and no photo or video can truly capture how incredible it is in person. The tour also included a delicious lunch of chicken burritos, and one of the highlights was enjoying Glacieritas made with actual ice from Aialik Glacier, a fun and unique experience! A huge thank you to the amazing all-women crew: Captain Sherry, Danny, Gail, and Abagayle. Your knowledge, enthusiasm, and hospitality made this tour even more special. Thank you for giving us such an unforgettable experience and memories that will last a lifetime! If you're planning a trip to Alaska, don't miss this tour, it's worth the price plus some, and is just the right length. It was truly one of the highlights of my entire vacation!

This was a bucket list trip. The captain and crew were very informative. We had perfect weather and along with the glaciers, we saw lots of wildlife. Ex: Orcas, dolphins, wales, seals and sea lions, along with a variety of seabirds, some rare.

It sounds like you had an unforgettable day on the water, and we truly appreciate you joining us!
Cannot recommend enough!! We saw everything - whales, sea lions, otters, porpoises. And the glacier was breathtaking. We had a perfect weather day with calm seas and no rain. Service on board was great. Good food for lunch, good drinks, and surprise sweet treat on the way back to the dock.

We took the full day tour in early June. The tour was only about half full, which was fantastic. We did not feel like we were constantly tripping over each other to see the sights. We were extremely fortunate that the weather was beautiful and the seas were calm. There were two highlights to my trip. Captain Steve found a pod of feeding orca that we were able to just sit and watch for about 25 minutes. They were all around the boat. Captain Steve and the crew all agreed that this was one of the best orca viewing experiences they have ever had. The other was Northwestern Glacier. I have never seen glaciers before, and the sound of them calving reverberating off the cliffs was so cool. We sat in the bay for a good 30 minutes and watched the harbor seals and their babies goof around on the ice and listened to the glaciers crack and fall. I could have sat there all day. We also saw Fin wales from a distance. Captain said they don't see Fin wales very often, so we felt lucky, although we didn't get as close as I wish we could have. We basically just saw the blows and their dorsal fin as they dove down deep. The Humpbacks were playing hard to spot that day and we only saw the tail of one off in a cove as we passed. The captain brought us to the Sea Lion rookery where we got to see the big bulls showing off for the ladies and the gull rookery where there was birds absolutely everywhere! Sea Otters and Mountain Goats were also spotted. We viewed multiple glaciers and rode right to the base of a waterfall for some beautiful pictures. Captain Steve kept a running commentary that was informational and interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The food did not disappoint either. Breakfast was a cup of yogert and a fresh baked cinnamon roll. Lunch was a very good and filling Southwest chicken wrap with chips and salsa, and the tour topped off with a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie. Pop and water were complementary and you could refill as often as you liked. When we were at the glacier, the staff fished some of the calved off ice out of the bay and we were able to get pop or margarita (there was a charge for alcohol) with the crushed up glacier ice. With the tour only being half full, we had plenty of choice for indoor seating. The seats were a bit difficult to get in and out of as the arm rests were fixed, but they were very comfortable. Larger people may struggle with this. There was plenty of good places to sit outside and view the animals as well. There is a bathroom onboard, so no worries there. The other for staff members were all very nice and attentive. There were two in the galley and one waiting on each deck of the indoor seating areas. Safety proceedures were thoroughly explained and we felt safe and confident with our crew. Would I do this again? In a heartbeat! Highly recommended.
Thank you for the detailed review! We’re so glad you had such an incredible day with Captain Steve and the crew and were able to experience so much wildlife, glaciers, and great service. We really appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back again soon!
Trip was probably the highlight of our Alaska trip that included Fairbanks, and Seward. Guide was informative and friendly. Met us at our pick up point and then drove to our hotel a mile away so I could park my car in a location i felt more comfortable with. Guide held that safety was the ultimate goal without being over the top about it. The lunch break at the lodge was GREAT! We left the glacier ahead of time, my fiance got tired; and, we are both senior citizens. Since we were the first group at the lodge for lunch we got the best table in the house! The food was excellent and I strongly suggest getting the pie along with ice-cream for dessert! Can't remember the guides name (I'm terrible with remembering names) But I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in the excursion!
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear your tour was a highlight of your Alaska trip.
What an incredible day out of Resurrection Bay! Captain Mark and his crew (Sarah, Casey and Quinn) were all so accommodating and kind. Being a AK resident, I enjoy taking friends and family on glacier/wildlife cruises when they visit. I've toured with other companies before, and this was by far my best experience. And it is completely worth every penny to take the longer day cruise (they offer AK resident discount, as well!). Even though it was a cloudy, foggy day out of Seward, we still saw all that Alaska has to offer - eagles, glaciers, otters, harbor seals, whales, puffins, sea stars and sea lions . A truly an epic experience! I learned a lot from Captain Mark and his 30+ years of touring the area. The food was also tasty, but I suggest bringing extra snacks/drinks if you'd like to save $ on a longer day. Make sure to dress in layers so you can enjoy all the views from outside - waterproof is best!
Thank you for sharing such a detailed and enthusiastic review! We’re thrilled to hear Captain Mark, Sarah, Casey, and Quinn made your day out of Resurrection Bay so memorable.
What an amazing day! Highly recommend. We saw so much wildlife including puffins, humpback whales, sea lions, and harbor seals. The glacier was very active with several calving events. Tour is at a great pace.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed such an amazing day on the water and were able to see so much wildlife, along with an active glacier.
