En uforglemmelig dag til at opdage Gran Canarias klippefyldte vestkyst og det grønne nord langt fra masseturismen. I løbet af denne dag kan du benytte lejligheden til at svømme i de smukkeste naturlige svømmebassiner på øen. At vælge os betyder, at du vælger at rejse, mens du tager dig tid, og genopdager mangfoldigheden af landskaber, men også dens lokale, historiske, kulturelle og gastronomiske arv. Din udflugt er helt privat, uden unødvendige forretningsstop. Vi har været etableret i mange år på øen Gran Canaria. For mere end 20 år siden forelskede vi os i dets mennesker, dets landskaber og dets traditioner. Vi brænder for at besøge hvert hjørne af vores smukke ø. Vi er utålmodige med at introducere alle de vidundere, der er gemt på vores "kontinent i miniature" for alle dem, der ønsker at undslippe masseturismen. Rejseplan
Vi laver et fotostop ved "Molino de Viento". Det er en vindmølle, der ligger få kilometer fra Mogan. Mundtlig tradition siger, at det var en hyrde fra La Aldea, der satte ild til den som gengældelse mod den kommunale magt. Fra da af var det kendt som Moulin Brûlé. Den blev restaureret i 1998. Dens 7 meter høje tårn gør den til den største vindmølle på Gran Canaria.
Vi stopper for at beundre "Azulejos de Veneguera", et naturmonument dannet af en kompleks proces med størkning af de væsker, der udstødes af Tejeda-vulkanen, og som erosionen i tusinder af år har efterladt blotlagt. Et bjerg, som om vi farvede det med penselstrøg. Erosion afslørede en række geologiske lag, mineraler tonet med rødlige, okker, grønne og blå toner. Lokalbefolkningen gav navnet "Los Azulejos de Veneguera" på grund af deres lighed med de farvestrålende flisevægge i San Nicolas de Tolentino.
I Puerto de la Aldea finder vi den eneste lettilgængelige strand på hele denne kyst. Vi går rundt i havnen og går derefter mod "El Charco". Det er en lille naturlig sø beliggende på stranden i La Aldea, som består af havvand. Festlighederne i El Charco, i landsbyen San Nicolás, er en af de mest berømte og populære begivenheder på De Kanariske Øer. Hver 11. september samles hundredvis af mennesker i byens "sø" for at fiske med egne hænder efter fiskene, der lever i denne kystlagune. Denne festival betragtes som et aktiv af kulturel interesse og er baseret på en præ-spansktalende tradition. Efter en lang køretur langs de klippefyldte afgrunde med et stop for at tage billeder af den vilde kyst, ankommer vi til vores næste stop "Puerto de Las Nieves".
Agaete har nogle af de mest populære naturlige pools og strande i den nordlige del af øen. Vi går langs dens maleriske maritime promenade og stopper ved de naturlige bassiner. Glem ikke din badedragt, hvis du vil svømme i disse pools! En unik og uforglemmelig oplevelse!
Efter svømning går vi mod havnen i Agaete "Puerto de las Nieves", en lille fiskerihavn med sine mange fiskerestauranter ved havet. Dette vil være det ideelle stop for en velfortjent frokostpause i en typisk kanarisk restaurant tilbyder lokalt fanget fisk. (Måltider er ikke inkluderet i prisen for udflugten). Efter maden går vi i havnen med dens hvide og blå huse ved foden af stenstranden. Vi vil benytte lejligheden til at se, hvad der er tilbage af den berømte "Dedo de Dios", havnens emblematiske klippe. Det er en monolit, der stiger fra havet, som havde form som en hånd og en finger, der pegede mod himlen. Efter en storm i efteråret 2005 kollapsede fingeren. Det eneste, der er tilbage i dag, er hånden. Så er det tid til at tage vejen til Arucas.
Vi forlader nu hovedvejen mod Arucas. Her er landskabet meget grønt, og der er bananplantager og typiske "fincaer" overalt. I denne region spiller landbruget en hovedrolle. I Arucas besøger vi (udvendigt) katedralen "Iglesia de San Juan". Denne enorme kirke med fire tårne er bygget i sort basalt.

We had a great time with Fabian. Myself and my 13 years old daughter enjoyed his stories about the island and visiting places that were picturesque and certainly memorable. Lunch was super tasty and we loved trying typical Canarian food. Fabian was also patient with us when we wanted to stop and buy some nicely crafted souvenirs - much appreciated. Through his excursion, Fabien has shown us some of the wonders of Gran Canaria. He was able to satisfy our thirst for curiosity about the history, geography and culture of this island. His pedagogy taught us a lot and none of our questions went unanswered. Beyond the playful aspect, we had an unforgettable time as Fabien is an endearing and sincere person. We had the opportunity to take a trip to the mountains of Gran Canaria in December 2023 with this company and we were completely satisfied. So this year, for our return to the island we booked the full tour of the island and obviously again with Fabien. It was like meeting a long-time friend. You could see he was really happy to see us again. We toured the island as indicated on the program and even with a few little “Plus”, because Fabien knows how to adapt according to his clients and does not count his time. We enjoyed visiting the beach area of “La Aldea” Fabien showed us sites that we could not have discovered alone. The fish meal in Agaete facing the port was very good and typical. The West Coast is wild and beautiful. Fabien has many different excursions and as we return every year, we have already planned a completely different excursion. Fabien, thank you for your kindness, and your sense of humor that made our day even more unforgettable. Thanks also for all the photos taken during this day.

Having just completed my second tour with Fabien (my first was two years ago), I can confidently say that it is one of Gran Canaria's best guidebooks. This "Jane McDonald Tour" was absolutely fantastic and took us to some of the island's most beautiful hidden treasures. Fabien’s profound knowledge and passion for Gran Canaria are evident at every stop. From the crystal clear waters of Tufia with its charming white-blue houses and cave dwellings to the impressive neo-Gothic San Juan Bautista church in Arucas - every stop was a highlight. The historic centre of Arucas with its 17th-century architecture was particularly fascinating. ==References== A special highlight was the visit to Firgas, also known as the "balcony of the Atlantic". The Paseo de Gran Canaria with its waterfall road and the Paseo de Canarias, which shows the landscapes of all the Canary Islands, offer breathtaking photographic motifs. Lunch here was a unique experience with local watercress dishes - a truly authentic taste of Canarian cuisine! The last stop at Puerto de las Nieves in Agaete was overwhelming, with its natural pools and iconic Dedo de Dios rock formation. The blue and white houses along the pebble beach perfectly embody the charm of this fishing village. What distinguishes Fabien is his charming personality, his many years of experience and his ability to convey not only the tourist places but the authentic soul of Gran Canaria. His personable nature and professional approach make the 8-hour tour seem like an excursion with a well-informed friend. I have now done two different tours with Fabien and would book again at any time. If you want to experience the real Gran Canaria with an excellent guide, Fabien is the place to be. His tours are worth every euro! Tip for travellers: Think of comfortable shoes, sun protection and bathing gear if you want to swim in the natural pools!
