Sarnath er et smukt buddhistisk sted og betragtes som et af de mest hellige blandt fire forskellige steder, der er forbundet med Buddhas liv. I dag er dette sted oversået med adskillige buddhistiske templer, et museum og arkæologiske levn. Du får at vide om buddhismens filosofi, historier om Buddhas tidligere fødsler (Jataka-fortællingerne) og så mange andre ting relateret til dette sted.

Vi besøger Mool Gandh Kuti Vihara-templet, som blev bygget af 'Mahabodhi Society' med base i Sri Lanka. Dette tempel har smukke vægmalerier malet af en japansk kunstner. Dette tempel huser også relikvier fra Buddha, som er offentligt udstillet i 3 dage i november.
Vi besøger denne arkæologiske park, som har rester af gamle buddhistiske klostre og mange stupaer.
Vi besøger stedets museum, som huser Indiens nationale emblem, et af de smukkeste billeder af Buddha og et par andre meget vigtige og betydningsfulde skulpturer.
Dette sted har resterne af Ashokan-søjlen, som også indeholder inskriptionen på pali-sprog og brahmi-skrift. Denne søjle havde en løvehovedstad med fire løver stående ryg mod ryg, som blev vedtaget som Indiens nationale emblem efter uafhængigheden.

Karan is incredibly smart and charismatic. What sets him apart from other tours is that he doesn’t just explain India and Varanasi but mostly importantly he was explaining things with a comparative approach against other cultures which shows his understanding and knowledge of not only India but also the rest of the world. Highly recommended! I took a tour with Karan to Sarnath. It was very good experience. Karan told me plenty of things about Sarnath and Varansi and also answerd all of my questions about religion, history, society and culture of India. This tour was really worthwhile, Karan organised everything for us from buying our museum tickets to grabbing us a delicious coconut drink/snack for the journey home. He was very well-informed and answered every question we had. We came away with a much better understanding of Buddhism in general, thanks to his in-depth explanations. Karan was also very considerate when we asked to postpone the original booking after we had a difficult night’s sleep. Would highly recommend!

It was very easy to understand, and they even came to pick me up at my hotel! After watching the puja, we took a boat ride to sightsee on the river! They explained a lot of things to me, so it was easy to understand! If you come to Varanasi, please give it a try as it's a great deal at 100 rupees!
