This tour was the perfect...

This tour was the perfect way to experience Mongolian life outside of the city. We stayed in yurts both nights, the first in a yurt hotel with running water and the second with a nomadic family. We visited several historical sites and temples, rode both horses and camels, and dressed in traditional attire for a photo shoot with a golden eagle. Our guide Tom was amazing!!! He has so much passion and knowledge and really made the experience. He was also so kind to help coordinate meals for the three vegetarians in our group.

Great trip

3 day tour, went with a group of 10 people. The tour guide, Sanchi, did a great job telling everything about culture, history, people, and buddhism, a very outgoing person too. She also made sure everyone is comfortable and enjoying the trip. We all went to Mini Gobi first, everyone got to ride some camels and enjoy the views. It was very beautiful, there were sand dunes, green steppes, mountains, and a lake, all in one place! After that visited a calligraphy museum, tried out writing our names in Mongolian traditional script, also got to see different calligraphy art exhibitions there. For the first night stopped at a tourist camp, it had all the commodities (there was a cafe, showers), cellular was good too. Visited Kharkorum museum the next day, learned about the history of the city, visited the Erdene Zuu monastery while wearing deel, too. Then, went back to Mini Gobi, eveyone rode horses, we also visited another monastery, Erdene Khamba. Spent the night in gers, being welcomed in an authentic nomad household (this time there were no commodities like running water, or stable cellular). You could also pay extra to stay at a tourist resort nearby. There were plenty of chances to try different Mongolian dishes, the tour included breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and there was reasonable food variety, too (most dishes would have some veggies, beef, noodles). Overall a very fun tour, got to see and learn about a lot of things. Would pretty much recommend it to anyone and everyone.

A breathtaking trip to Central Monglia!

I had a fantastic time on this 3-day tour from Ulaanbaatar to central Mongolia and back. My guide and driver, Ao, was excellent: friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaging to talk to. He played a huge role in making the experience so positive and memorable. On Day 1, I was picked up around 9am in Ulaanbaatar and we drove to Kharkhorin. Although it was a long journey, we made regular stops for snacks, drinks, and a relaxed lunch of local food. Despite the winter conditions, Ao always drove very safely, which was reassuring. In Kharkhorin, we visited the museum, where Ao shared insightful explanations and answered many questions about Mongolian history. That evening, we stayed in a ger at a campsite — as it was low season, we were the only guests, which made it feel like a private stay. On Day 2, we visited the stunning Erdene Zuu Monastery. Watching and listening to the monks’ prayers was a powerful experience; although photography and recording aren’t allowed, the monastery livestreams the prayers on Facebook. We then travelled to snow-covered sand dunes, which were absolutely breathtaking. Thanks to the low season, I had plenty of time to explore and climb the dunes completely on my own. Later, we stayed with a nomadic family in their ger. As a storm was forecast for the following day, we brought forward the camel riding. On horseback with the family’s father, we helped herd their camels back to camp before riding them at sunset. The day ended with making traditional Mongolian dumplings together before settling in for the night. The third day (when you normally would have done the camel riding), was us having breakfast at the family's camp before starting the drive back to Ulaanbaatar. We were able to miss the storm, so the drive was smooth. We got back in good time, but the traffic in Ulaanbaatar was pretty bad, so it still took some time to get to the hotel. I would recommend this tour and Ao to anyone visiting Mongolia! I loved every minute of it!
