Godt sted at bo.

Not a bad experience considering they had quite a lot of distance and spots to cover. They covered all the spots as mentioned in the itinerary. However, the description promised a 20 people group tour but the actual tour had more than 45 in the bus. Also, the tour guide could have been more lively in his approach while describing the history/ places.
On February 26, we went on an excursion to Kazbek and were very pleased. A wonderful excursion and an excellent guide. I would like to thank the guide NANA for an interesting and informative overview of the country of Georgia (Sakartvelo _!_!) She is very knowledgeable in the history of the country and her energy and positivity charges all the participants of the excursion. Thank you very much for such a wonderful trip and solving problems during the excursion. We highly recommend it. We wish everyone to visit excursions with the guide Nana. We have found tour guides here do things very differently to english speaking countries. We asked our fellow Indian, English, Australian travellers and they agreed 100% It is the non stop talking by the guide from the moment the bus moves off to the end. No quiet time at all. No time to think, or discuss just talk talk talk. It drove us all crazy. Some wore headphones and played music to drown out the noise, others tried to sleep. We are not used to this talk talk talk by a guide and we don't like it at all. That said, both guides we had on the two tours were lovely. They were rightly proud of Georgia, had enormous knowledge and obviously in Georgia it must be expected that the guide talks all the time. Maybe one bus for English speakers with a guide who is quiet most of the time and another bus for Russian speakers who enjoy 100% talk???
This is a full day trip, we were out over 12 hours. Lots of stops on the way, first the reservoir, then Ananauri fortress, then the black and white river, then a stop to take pictures and buy honey, then through Gudauri and on to Kazbegi, Stepantsminda and Gergeti monastery with a final stop at the Russia Georgia friendship memorial. The monastery is accessed by a different vehicle and costs 20 lari, you don’t have to go up to it if you don’t want. Take plenty of food and drink with you and warm clothes, wear sensible footwear. Most of the places you stop at have toilet facilities, some are nicer than others. The downside of this trip is that the road to Kazbegi gets closed to allow trucks to pass through the mountain tunnels. If this happens, be prepared for a lengthy delay. We were stuck for an hour and a half. Guide was knowledgeable and spoke excellent English, the vehicle was decent and comfortable. The meeting point in Tbilisi is a bit chaotic, just go to the square at the bottom of Kote Afkazi street where the buses pick up, tell them where you are going and who with and they will direct you. We set off at 9am and got back at 9.30pm. Overall a good day, albeit a long one.
Jimmy was a great guide who really brought this day trip to life. It’s a convenient trip from the capital to see some gorgeous Mountain Views, alpine lakes, and scenic photo spots. Jimmy is a great photographer too. The driver was also very friendly and we played games in the car on the way back to pass the time, plus everyone got to pick a song to represent their culture! Super interesting and made the drive seem so much faster! Jimmy also helped me when there was a mixup with my order in the restaurant, and if you run out of local currency he can just pay for you at these little shops and then you can go to an ATM to pay him after the trip. All in all a great day!
The Georgian traditional hospitality , friendly nature and joie de vivre comes alive on the Carpe Diem tours. Efficient Value for money And they know their kachapuris well Oscar Rebello Goa India
