Francesco (the Indiana Jones of Pompeii) was an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable, funny, and accommodating.
Our tour guide was fantastic and fun, he is an archeologist and incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Pompeii!
Guide was very experienced and knowledgeable. Bus transport was on time and easy to locate Try to avoid a weekend because of crowds Wear sturdy walking shoes. This is not a tour for those with mobility issues
Our cruise ship changed docking location the night before our excursion but the tour operator pivoted and still picked us up from the new location in Naples. They were responsive and communicative throughout. The tour guide at Pompei was knowledgeable and gave us an excellent tour. She answered everyone’s questions and was considerate of everyone’s questions. The tour was perfect amount of time (2 hours) especially as it was hot and crowded. We were back on the ship in time for a late lunch and several hours before we departed. Highly recommend this tour for an excellent introduction to Pompei.
Make sure you take water! There is no opportunity to get anything to drink until after the tour. Our guide was great! He was an archeologist, so he really knew what he was talking about. We were blown away by the sheer size of the city of Pompeii.
Directions where to meet for the bus in Salerno were easy to follow! Our guide in Pompeii was very knowledgeable and friendly and made the experience a fantastic one. Highly recommend doing a guided tour- there's so much history you might miss doing it in your own.
Very difficult walking for anyone with health issues. A lot of uneven walking with lots of people trying to see the same thing. A great tour but a lot to see.
The tour of Pompei was led by a very professional and knowledgeable guide. Francesco was a local who grew up around the ruins and turned that into a fantastic career. He was funny at times and kept the group updated with facts about the history and the importance of the ruins. I highly recommend this tour.
