Kom væk fra byens menneskemængder og omfavn det centrale Japans skønhed, mens du rejser til Shiga-præfekturet. Dette fantastiske præfektur er velsignet med historiske slotte, behagelige vandveje, frodige marker og Japans største sø. En fryd for øjet og maven, denne fængslende region er også hjemsted for det ældste mærke af wagyu-oksekød i Japan samt en af landets mest unikke sødebutikker. Denne tur tager dig til to slotsbyer, Hikone - med et af de ældste slotte i Japan, og Omi Hachiman - kendt for sine charmerende kanaler. Smag Matcha, slap af i fredelige haver, og nyd landskabet, mens du ledes af din erfarne, engelsktalende guide gennem denne maleriske region i Japan.

Vores første stop på turen er Hikone Castle - et af de bedst bevarede slotte i Japan og en nationalskat. Det er et af kun tolv originale slotte tilbage fra Edo-æraen. En række af dens bygninger er blevet udpeget som Vigtige Kulturejendomme. Din guide vil føre dig gennem slottets grunde og ind i borgen og forklare unikke træk ved slottet undervejs.
Så har vi tid til en afslappende gåtur gennem Genkyu-en Garden. Haven, der er designet til at ligne en paladshave fra Kina, har en central dam med vandrestier og tilbyder en utrolig udsigt over slottet. Du får mulighed for at smage Matcha-te og en traditionel japansk slik i et tehus, der engang blev brugt til at underholde slotsherrens gæster.
Vores næste stop vil være Yume Kyobashi Castle Road, en populær shoppinggade med sorte hegn og hvidkalkede mure. Her får du tid til frokost og lidt shopping. Regionen er berømt for premium wagyu, og masser af butikker sælger delikatessen tilberedt som kroketter, spyd, varme gryder og meget mere. Spørg gerne din guide om anbefalinger, eller lad din næse vise vejen. Men glem ikke at efterlade plads til dessert senere på turen!
Vi tager til kanaldistriktet Omi Hachiman, hvor du kan sejle de historiske vandveje, mens du nyder den maleriske udsigt over slotsbyen. Filmelskere vil måske finde seværdighederne velkendte, da dette sted ofte bruges i historiske dramaer og film. Selvfølgelig vil din guide være tilgængelig for at hjælpe dig med at tage billeder, der vil gøre dine venner og familie misundelige. Bemærk venligst, at bådturen kan blive aflyst på grund af vejret. Derudover kan vi ikke garantere en plads på bådturen for gæster, der bestiller denne tur mindre end en uge i forvejen. Herfra vender vi tilbage til tourbussen og går tilbage til dit mødested for at sige farvel der.
Vores sidste stop vil være La Collina. Denne konfektbutik er delvis naturreservat og delvis temapark. Det er omgivet af naturen og serverer et bredt udvalg af populære sæsonbestemte slik. Oprindeligt et bageri, ejerne udviklede en dyb forståelse for naturlige ingredienser og dermed besluttet at gøre deres butik til et naturreservat, hvor de kunne dyrke deres egne ingredienser og være i tråd med årstiderne. Butikken er blevet beskrevet som Ghibli-lignende i udseende og er et godt sted for fotografiske elskere. Desuden må man ikke gå glip af dessert.

Kim was an amazing tour guide for our day trip. She adapts to your needs and makes the experience feel personal and comfortable. She’s incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the area, and she’s also very kind and enjoyable to be around. Kim gets along wonderfully with children too, which made the trip even more relaxing and fun for our family. Also, a special shoutout to our driver, Nakanishi, who was professional, friendly, and made the journey smooth and comfortable. Highly recommend!

We had alot of fun exploring many awesome places with Kim really good guide shared with us alot of informations regarding places history and culture. Amazingly there were just the two of us for this trip, guided by knowledgeable and foresightful Kim. Although the boat trip was good, the gentle walk round the superb Castle Garden was the best.

Booking process, easy. Driver (it was Mr Kondo) and guide (Ms Kim): good, friendly, punctual, knowledgeable. Van, clean and comfortable. Our excursion: Hikone Castle, Omi Hachiman. Lots to see. Lots of photo opportunities. Lots to learn from our guide. Had good lunch (excellent Unagi). Did we enjoy it? Yes. A lot. Do we recommend it? Oh yes, definitely.
