The history and back story of Ireland and specifically Commemara is fascinating and told through our guide, Paddy, was outstanding. Loved every bit of it! The stopovers were well timed and relevant
Thank you.
I mainly booked this trip to go to the national park, but chose the abbey since it was incredibly cloudy. Of course it cleared up while at the abbey. That was a little disappointing. Having to make a decision between two great places can be stressful. I wish they could skip all of the small stops and just stick with the abbey and the NP. But all in all the abbey was absolutely gorgeous and had a beautiful history/story behind it. The bus we took was very tight. The men next to me kept falling asleep on me. As a solo female traveler that was a little uncomfortable. The tour guide Mike was very informative and nice.
Thank you.
We thoroughly enjoyed all the stops especially the Connemara National Park. The sights were gorgeous.
Thank you.
Awesome trip! Scenery was amazing. Strongly recommend (I chose national park). Vincent was a great guide & driver.
Thank you.
We had a wonderful day touring Connemara with our excellent driver and narrator Vincent. The three of us in our group spent three hours at the national park where one of us climbed to the top of diamond Hill. The park offers two less challenging hikes. The medium difficulty hike still took you to a viewpoint of spectacular views. The sites, our driver, Vincent, cleanliness and quality of the bus were all exceptional. Thank you!
Thank you.
The guide was fantastic;he provided great info on everything. He was very right and didactic. I recommend this man with reservations.
Thank you.
Great day tour to see the area outside of Galway. It lists the 3 hr national park stop but you have to choose between the Kylemore Abbey Castle tour OR the national park. They do "suggest" the Abbey more since it has food and a gift shop. Sure there is something in it for the tour company but none the less it is a bit deceiving.
Thank you. There is a choice of main stop on our Connemara Day Tour. Either 3 hours in the Connemara National Park or 3 hours in the Kylemore Abbey. The choice is yours.
It was very nice that we had a small bus. The driver gave the necessary information. A plus was, that we had a different route on the way there and back. According to the ad we were supposed to be back at 6.30pm, but at 5.15pm we got off the bus.
Thank you.
I was really looking forward to this tour, but ended up disappointed, part because of the tout and part because of Kylemore Abbey. The weather was not great, but I am not holding that against him. Our tour guide was Vincent, who was very informative. But he talked about things I wanted to get pictures of, but was unable to. First, taking pictures from a bus does not usually work because you get a reflection, which I did on my side. Second, the bus went too fast.So I never got any pictures of thatched cottages, the castle in Cligden, Connemara ponies, etc. Second, we never stopped for any pictures after we left Kyle more Abbey. According to the itinerary, we were supposed to stop at a lake and stop and get pictures of the Connemara Giant. We never even heard about him or saw him, let alone stopped for him. Cligden, in my opinion, is a useless stop. There is nothing of interest there. I used the time to buy lunch. It was not even a scenic area. There were scenic parts of Cligden, but that spot was not it. Also, I had a very disappointing visit at the Abbey. I never got to see the gardens as the shuttle bus had a very long line and the walk was 1.8 km. Had I known that, I would have done the gardens first, and then the house. I didn't do the lake walk because it was raining so hard and there were no gardens along the way. So I figured I would look at the shop and then sit in a dry indoor seat. The shop was boring, and every single indoor seat was taken. Because they take your ticket rather than scan it, I could not go back into the house for the history talk, or even do the lake walk. So I sat in the rain for almost two hours. This tour needed more photo stops. I saw lots of beautiful scenery, but have very few pictures to back it up. It was a very disappointing tour. I am sure the gardens were amazing. I feel like I got half a tour.
I think the weather has a lot do do with your experience?
I booked this tour for the national park in particular. However, the weather wasn’t ideal for hiking (though the sun did come out for a while) especially Diamond Hill. So I went to Kylemore Abby, which was a really interesting place to see and explore in person. We did stop for 3 quick 5 min photos and the driver/guide Mike had really interesting facts and history.
Thank you.
