Warm, Adel has filled every moment of this busy day, thanks to his anecdotes and explanations. Pretty intimate visit at this time of year. Very good organization. To do absolutely, the quad bike tour in the dunes is worth it even if a little expensive (you can do it on foot too but complicated to go to the remains of the Roman prison. We left Djerba 6am for return 5pm
Nov 2025 Fantastic day led by our excellent friendly guide Sabri, my wife and I sat in the suprisingly comfortable back two seats of the Mahindra XUV 500 4x4 with 4 other tourists in the vehicle. The trip consisted of leaving Djerba island over the Roman Road, taking pics at the Tataouine road sign, stopping for a coffee (4TND), then on to Ksar Hedada Star Wars location for approx 25mins, then Guermassa Citadel Village for approx 20mins, then along long sand drift roads to the remote Ksar Ghilane Hot Spring where we rode quad bikes (100TND Cash per quad for approx 1 hour and enjoyable riding through the desert to a Roman ruin), camels (? TND as we didn't do this) or both. Not riding the camels gave us more time in the glorious 30°c Hot Spring pool (don't forget your own bathing suit and towel) where there are basic changing areas and a bar to purchase drinks and snacks. We were then provided a delicious chicken cous cous meal with Tunisian brick starter and a desert of gorgeous Dates sourced from the on site Date tree farm! On heading back to the original coffee shop we made a couple of surprise stops at two lovely areas, one of which involved a great deal of bouncing around in the 4x4 (Sabri reads his audience well 😁). From our experience and opinion we recommend this a must do if visiting Djerba. We also did the half day hidden treasure island tour with this same tour company 'Activites et loisirs a djerba,' which was also definitely worth doing with the brilliant guide Rayan.
6 am early start and long drive but comfortable in air conditioned car. Lots of information given about each place and very knowledgeable guide to answer any questions. Photo stops on the way to the oasis too. Didn’t try the sulphur water swim but did try the camel ride and 40 minutes was long enough in midday sun. Food was good, I got a veggie version and couscous and vegetables were delicious. Visit to the abandoned hill village, flooded in the 60’s was interesting and views were amazing but it was scorching! Quick stop at Tatouine to check out the old granary, which is now a hotel, you can buy ices, sweets, water and pistachios from shop opposite. Take water, hat or head covering and slap on the sun screen and you’ll have a great day. Guide spoke at least 6 languages, I was the only English person in my car but he made sure I was well informed and answered all my many questions, much respect to him and also to the ‘BossMan’ driver was incredible, navigating sand dunes blown onto road, potholes and camels just having a lie down! Thank you gentlemen, I had a great time.
The tour was led to me a lot of motivation by our driver Meftah, who went to great lengths to explain everything we saw and where we drove by. There were a lot of different stops like the oasis in the Sahara and a viewpoint over the mountains. It is definitely worth doing this tour.
A great experience we had a great day. The Meftah guide was friendly, welcoming and explained us well each place and its history..enriching experience... I recommend this activity
Amazing experience, the quad bikes were fun at a charge of 100 TD. The guide we were given did not explain things as most of the group were French speaking & there were only 5 English speakers in the group. This did not cause any issue though because our driver was amazing, very attentive, communicated with his passengers (6) in both French & English. The salt lake stop was also breathtaking to see, I would certainly recommend this tour & also do it again.
It's a long day with an early start but worth it to see the Sahara, Tatouine and the hot springs oasis. The guys that run it are great!
I honestly dont know where to start. We received clear communications on details of our trip and pick ups. They also sent a WhatsApp message to ensure all was well the evening before. They arrived on time in a clean and comfortable 4x4. They explained what our day would look like. They ensured we had a on English speaking guide. The trip was amazing! We saw the salt lake, Tatoutine, Star Wars set, Matata, visited the dunes and saw a baby goat being born on the side of the road, before we reached Ksar Ghilane. We passed herds of camels, sheep and goats. The guide kept us informed and ensured we were well taken care of and we learnt so much about Tunisian culture and Berbers. We had lunch at Ksar Ghilane and the food was delicious. We appreciated the effort people had gone to, especially as it is Ramadan and many cages/restaurants were closed. Our drivers and guide couldn't eat with us because they were fasting. Our guides arranged for my husband and I to go quad biking in the dunes and to use them to get to an old fort. They also got us back to our hotel in one piece. It was undeniably a long hot and dirty day but so worth it! It cost a lot less than our hotel quoted as well. It was a trip of a lifetime. We couldn't praise them enough. Lovely drivers/guides and the people we met were also fantastic.
My son (16) and I had the best day today! We travelled with another mum and daughter that we didn't know (french). Our guide was professional, friendly and attentive. He gave a great tour on the way to ksar ghilane and on the way back with 3 stops each way to break up the journey and take some amazing photos and learning about the history of the berber tribes. He encouraged us to speak French and our companions to speak English. He was very fun! Amazing views through the day. My son and I swam in the hot springs. It was clean and an wonderful experience. Very warm. We chose to do the camel ride which was great fun. Our guide was a very good handler we felt very safe. He sang to the camels and checked we were ok regularly. He also took photos for us. Lunch was provided. Note cola costs extra. The food was delicious and there was lots of it. We had a soup, followed by samosas and then chicken and couscous followed by tea and a fruit/cookie dessert. Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. Thank you so much for a fantastic day!
We really enjoyed this experience! The team was great, very professional, responsible and attentive. We had so much fun, the outing was excellent and the activities were really top, beautiful even! To do again without hesitation!"
