Gør dig klar til at udforske to af de smukkeste og mest velbevarede middelalderbyer på vores eskorterede dagstur! Først besøger vi Sighisoara-citadellet, et UNESCOs verdensarvssted og Vlad the Impalers fødested. Vi vil udforske klokketårnet, kirken fra bakken og huset, hvor Vlad blev født! Hvis du føler dig sulten, kan vi arrangere frokost i middelalderbyen Sighisoara (merpris). Efter Sighisoara tager vi til Sibius gamle bydel, som var europæisk kulturhovedstad i 2007. Du får mulighed for at slentre gennem Den Store Plads, Rådstårnet, Den Lille Plads og Løgnernes Bro. Sibiu er hjertet af germansk Transsylvanien. Saksiske kolonister kaldte byen Hermannstadt. Sibiu by ligger på stedet for en af de største middelalderlige fæstninger fra Rumænien. I middelalderen blev Sibiu omgivet af tre koncentriske ringe af befæstede vægge. Nogle har overlevet sammen med et fascinerende netværk af kvadrater, trapper og tårne fra 13-18 år. Vi besøger det store torv, som er det historiske centrum af Sibiu, først nævnt i dokumenter i 1411 som et kornmarked, den plads der eksisterede siden 1366, da byens tredje befæstningsbælte blev færdiggjort. Vi besøger den lille plads, som er Sibiu's næststørste historiske sted og en af de smukkeste i byen og Huet-pladsen, domineret af den evangeliske kirke, som er den ældste i Sibiu, Liars'broen. Højdepunkter: Det Store Plads, Det Lille Torg, Rådstårnet, Løgernes Bro, Den Evangeliske Katedral og Det ældste Hus i Byen. • Brasov-Sighisoara 1 time 50 min kørsel. • Sighisoara til Sibiu 1 time 30 min kørsel. • Sibiu til Brasov 2 timer 15 min kørsel. Gå tilbage til Brasov omkring kl. 8.00 og slip af på dit hotel eller den gamle bydel.
Besøg Sighisoara middelalderby, UNESCO verdensarv, herunder Clock Tower, The Church on the Hill og huset, hvor Vlad the Impaler blev født. Gå rundt om de smalle gader kan vi under skyggen af det gamle uretårn beundre huset, hvor en ukendt kvinde fødte et barn, Vlad, som bliver berømt over hele verden som Dracula. Disse gader, som også ignorerer den lige linje og det vandrette plan, skjuler og afslører, i hvert trin i et udførligt, men urbane naturlandskab, middelalderlige malerier, der glæder øjet og ansporer fantasien. Den umiskendelige charme og personlighed i byen blev bygget i tid ved at harmonisere de successive indskud af historien. Vandre langs muren omkring Sighisoara citadellet beundrer vi de fem århundreder gamle huse sammen med tårnene opstillet af forskellige guilder i citadellet, hvorfra skomagere, skræddere og tinmakere guildtårne er de mest imponerende. Vi besøger kirken på bakken, men ikke før vi klatrer de 175 overdækkede trin, der blev bygget i 1642 for at gøre lettere adgang til skolebørnenes. Efter Sighisoara gamle bybesøg, gå til en lokal restaurant til frokost med friske salater, traditionelle supper, lækker sarmale, kød, kylling, grøntsager og andre regionale priser (drikkevarer og måltider på egen regning). Traditionel frokost kan arrangeres i middelalderbyen Sighisoara.

Bogdan patiently and comfortably drove us all over beautiful Romania to fulfill our list of fascinating sights. In hindsight, I wish we had skipped Bucharest and gone immediately to Brasov after Bogdan picked us up at OTP. Such a walkable charming city! I think he hinted this suggestion during our planning, but would never have pushed us to do something we didn't think we wanted to. He was very considerate of our wishes. We didn't understand just how much time it would take to travel between locations within our 5 days in Romania! As we learned about each other during those car rides through such lush countryside and mountains, we greatly appreciated Bogdan's gentle, subtle nudging from one amazing sight to the next to keep us on track. He also had obviously made long-standing relationships with fellow travel guides and local inn keepers and all seemed to greet each other warmly. He provided a local perspective of both Romania and Vlad Dracula, architecture and traditions, along with plenty of authentic pride in his country. At one point, I asked him when the Renaissance came to Romania, and his response was that, "Romania was the front line for invaders from the East, so it took longer for them to have time to appreciate the arts." I hadn't thought about it that way. And if there was anything he didn't know, he would always research the answer. Because of Bogdan, we had a relaxing, no-stress Romania experience and I highly recommend his tours!

Was the perfect day for the perfect places in Transylvania. Brasov is the right place to base yourself of and this trip is ideal to cover the highlights in a tight but comprehensive way. From Brasov to Sighisoara to Sibiu all in a day and in time to take the train to Bucharest the same evening. The guide/driver Bogdan was well knowledgeable, very pleasant to talk to and of course a really safe pair of hands behind the wheels.

This was such a fantastic tour! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and such a great driver. We had the most wonderful day, had plenty of time to stroll through the city at our own pace and we took in all the amazing and rich history these places have. I would 100% recommend this tour and I’d absolutely sue them in the future!

Very pleasant company with Bogdan as professional and kind guide, but the amount of time travelling meant we only had very small amount of time in both places which was disappointing. The weather was not the best which was unfortunate and I appreciated Bogdan’s excellent driving in difficult conditions.
We took this tour with Mimi. She was so great. So much knowledge and very fun to travel with. Would recommend her for sure. As for the tour, it was amazing. So much history and beauty. Loved both towns but I truly loved Sighisoara. The old feel and the look of the town took my breath away.
