We are regular cyclists but this tour really challenged us. Firstly the ebikes are not in good condition. Some are missing proper kickstands, batteries were not all fully charged, and we had mechanical issues like a dropped chain to deal with. Secondly the tour guide struggled to keep the - too large - group together in a safe formation, with some of the group disregarding requests to stay in a particular order/ to ride at certain speeds, and the tour guide was inconsistent regarding road rules, sometimes stopping at red lights and sometimes sailing straight thru them. Finally, the tour locations are so busy, it is very difficult to cycle safely around the city, which really compromises how much you can relax and enjoy the tour. All these issues aside, we are still glad we did a cycle tour, as we did get to see sights we wouldn't otherwise have reached, particularly the Michelangelo viewpoint. Just be prepared for the challenges the trip will present.
Fat tyre bikes Water provided but had to ask Good route taking you up to Michelangelo statue Squeaky brakes though
The electric bikes where perfect! Nice way to see the city with a little breeze at your face. If you are tired of walking definitely try this out!
Yaniel was an excellent guide. The bikes seemed in great condition and were comfortable, easy to navigate around town (using the bell!) despite the crowds, and powerful enough to easily get us up a winding green shady path to a wonderful viewing point to finish the tour. We got to see Florence’s major sights and were told some very interesting facts about them along the way, and our guide took some great photos of us. The streets are uneven in places so occasionally it can be a bit of a bumpy ride, but that’s part of the fun. I wouldn’t recommend the tour if you are a not a competent bike rider, you need to weave around pedestrians. Our group was two only couples and it was a sunny May afternoon, lucky on both counts. Very glad we did this tour.
It’s amazing, an amazing experience
Very nice bike ride through the city so you can see a lot of places within 2 hours. Nice guide with a lot of knowledge about the city.
Nice city to discover by bike. Still, the tour was disappointing. The tour guide lacked enthusiasm and had little regard for the group. We were a group of 16 with 1 guide which was little for the sometimes dangerous traffic situations. The tour was without helmets, which I have not had before abroad. Been to nice places, but the guide talked mainly while cycling which was not easy to understand.
Really fun tour, taking in all of the main sites, including Piazzale Michaelangelo. Edoardo was very knowledgeable and gave good direction on the bike. Would recommend as a great way to see the city and get some fresh air.
Unfortunately, an experience like this really depends on the guide; and in our case, that’s what let it down. The tour itself had great potential. We were given earpieces and rode through beautiful parts of Florence, stopping at key points for commentary. However, everything was delivered in a flat, monotone voice with no enthusiasm or effort to engage the group (3 adults and 3 teenage boys). Even the adults found themselves zoning out. In a city as incredible as Florence, it shouldn’t be difficult to bring the history and surroundings to life - but sadly, that just didn’t happen. Things took a further turn towards the end when two members of the group were left behind in the crowds. Despite waiting at a red light for several minutes, the guide then rode on without noticing. Only after I called out did he go back to find them. Instead of acknowledging the mistake to the two members of the group, he responded with sarcasm to them - loudly counting “one, two, three, four, five, six… are we all here?” at every junction on the way back. It created a really uncomfortable atmosphere, and even my 11-year-old commented that the guide had ruined the experience for everyone. I tried to raise this calmly back at the office, but the guide was dismissive and defensive, lying and insisting he had been watching and justifying his rude behaviour. To be fair, the manager was lovely; she apologised and kindly offered us an alternative tour, which we declined due to time constraints, and even gave my son a small toy car as a gesture. Overall, for over £100 for one adult and one child, this felt like poor value. With so many options available in Florence, I’d recommend booking elsewhere to avoid the risk. When you may only visit once, you want the experience to be memorable for the right reasons.
Luiggi guide good person but I was 15 minutes late and his English was not very understandable . All right, give you headphones to listen to him.
