Fantastic experience!

Sarah was the perfect hostesses the wonderful Riad! She made us feel completely at home. Together with Sarah we went to buy ingredients at the local market. So everything was very fresh. We chose a vegetarian tagine. The "mama" of the house gave the best cooking lesson! The rooftop is beautiful! We highly recommend this! It was also a fun activity to escape from the busy medina.

Great tour guide, bad communication

Our tour guide was great- communication from the administrators not so much. When we arrived, we were told the tour actually started an hour later, yet we were never notified. Eventually our tour did begin, but they elected to begin it without the other tour group, who had been notified that the tour was later... this was not communicated to the tour guide, who ended up having to do an extra market visit when the other group eventually arrived when they were instructed to, an hour later, as we sat in the riad and waited... Great tour and guide though! Market visit was fun, felt authentic, cooking class was well run and enjoyable. We did not get any dessert, though it was mentioned in the listing. Overall great tour, but bad communication from organizers and incorrect description including a dessert that was never served.

Great food, but wouldn’t recommend

I’ll start by saying the food was one of the best meals we had in Morocco! Unfortunately, the guides hardly spoke English to us. I’m not sure if it’s because we had a Moroccan in our group or not, but my brother-in-law had to do all the translating instead of relaxing and enjoying the class. The market visit was cool to experience. The cooking part consisted of all 9 of us cutting veggies and chicken and then one person fire roasting a few peppers, one person mixing raw chicken and spices and one person stirring a pan. Other than that, we didn’t do anything else to help cook the items. We didn’t get a recipe or any information as to how much spices were added to the tagine or how long to cook the tagine. We didn’t get any information about the tagine (how to cook with one, what to cook, how it works, etc.). While the tagines were on the stovetop, two of us were asked to wash the dishes, which was very odd seeing one chef was on their phone during this time and the other was taking a break. After all is said and done, I’m just glad the food was at least good.

Great!

Thank you for the day, we had a great time with Hadia with whom we toured the market, Slaim who accompanied us all day and finally Safia, the chef who guided us perfectly in the realization of delicious zaalouk and succulent chicken and vegetable tagine! Looking forward to sharing a moment together again!

A great experience

The cooking was outdoor on the terrace of a beautiful Riad. Ahmed (whose English was excellent) and the cook were very patient and I have to say we really enjoyed both the experience and the food. Very chilled all round

Too bad, not as hoped.

We met a nice but unprepared young man who had not been informed by his bosses of the cooking event. We waited at a dirty table on the terrace. He had to prepare breakfast for the house guests first, according to his task. At 11am (instead of 10am) we went to the market. We could not select a menu. We had tajjine and salad with cucumber , tomato and onion and we prepared mus from eggplant and tomato. That should be the starter! Then the Tajjine, which was very good. For dessert we had strawberries. So for starters and desserts of this kind, I don't need a cooking class. The cook and an assistant were very friendly and helpful, also funny and tried to iron out the misunderstanding and turn everything around for the good. Then a kind of supervisor came along and asked me kindly how satisfied I had been. I dared to explain to her the above. She got loud and said no one ever thought her course was stupid. Then she turned away unprofessionally and wanted to pray. Later she apologized and wanted to pull everything "beautiful". For the two cooks , who tried honestly and gave us , disappointing, too little enthusiasm and welcome....The cook could not speak English and the cook had to leave again, so we stayed half an hour with tea alone on the terrace. It had nothing to do with the offer : Selection starter, main course and dessert to do from the offer of the hotel at Viator.( 80.-€)

Excellent cooking class

We loved the experience. We were a small group which worked really well as we could get to know each other and talk food! Our chefs were both absolutely amazing. Helpful, friendly and encouraging. The tagine we cooked was absolutely delicious! The riad was stunning and the terrace view was beautiful! I cannot recommend this enough:)

Nice experience to do as a family

Good experience to do as a group and see how the tagine is made. Trip to market to buy food was also nice to see. Our guide was informative and friendly. Only thing to watch out for is if you order beer or wine, it is extremely over priced. 6 euro for a beer for example - definitely tourist pricing. In regular restaurant same beer would be 2 or 3 US. Wine was 40 euro - also way overpriced

We took a short walk to...

We took a short walk to the market for the vegetables and meat for our dinner. We learned the traditional spices that are in a tagine. We also participated fully in the prep of the vegetsbles and chicken. Enjoyable experience on the rooftop of a beautiful riad. Thank you for a nice evening and introduction to Moroccan cuisine.
