Great experience seeing the gorge from another perspective . Very light rapids. Our group ranged from 9 years old to grandma.
Our guide, Wilsen was very professional, knowledgeable, informative, and fun. We had a great time with our group, the lunch was very good. Prepare to have fun and enjoy getting wet. We also loved the opportunity to purchase a video and photos of our trip by Brett. A great way to share our experience.
We had a wonderful experience rafting the Upper New River with West Virginia Adventures. Our multi-generational family group of 9 people spanned from ages 21 to 61, and our guides made it fun for everyone (most of us had never rafted before). They allowed us to have 2 "duckies" (inflatable 2-person kayaks) alongside our larger raft. This was perfect for our thrill-seekers who wanted a little more challenge while allowing the rest of us to feel more secure in the main raft. Our guides Brendan and Brett did a fabulous job of teaching us what to do and making sure that everyone stayed safe and had fun. We would definitely come back and do it again and maybe even move onto a more challenging section of the river next time. We felt like West Virginia Adventures really did a great job of making a personalized experience for our group. We look forward to rafting with them again in the future!

It was great. Our guide was interactive during the whole trip. We did class 1-3 rapids and stopped for a jump off into the water for the whole group. I highly recommend this venture.

This experience with West Virginia Adventures was a blast! First off, this section of the river (the upper, calmer section) was so beautiful. And there was variety - from calm waters to some exciting rapids. The experience - from safety orientation to bus shuttle to the raft trip itself - was very professional. Our guide was Sam. He was incredible. Very friendly, calm, confident, knowledgeable, safety-conscious, patient. I can't say enough good things about him. And you can tell he's really having fun. He is absolutely perfect for this job! And Mia was such a great videographer and photographer. It is wonderful to have this experience documented so well. She got some great shots and spliced it all together in an awesome package before we even got back to our cars! We even saw (and have video of) a bald eagle! The rest of the crew was great too - so friendly and helpful with their recommendations about the Gorge area. The whole thing was just so enjoyable. We liked that this was an "express" tour, so there was no lunch break or swimming stops - it was all about the rafting! And we were done in 4 hours (but the time flew by). I would recommend West Virginia Adventures without a moment's hesitation!

Trip guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the experience very fun for both our 8 year old and 15 year old. For their first rafting experience, guide gave them some exciting moments in a totally safe way. Both kids are looking forward to future rafting adventures!
