I think the tour was very informational, interesting and worth it. I just came off being robbed by a can driver so initially I wasn't in the best mood , but the guides took it with stride. All in all very good tour.
Leslie was a very interesting guide. We had already taken a full day history tour which should not have been a problem as this was supposed to be about communism. He suggested at the beginning it would be part communism, part history. I told him we already had that part covered. The tour ended an hour early and we spent a half hour in a cafe, mostly talking current events. There was very limited information about actually living under communism. I don’t think we got what we paid for.
Dear Beth, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We are sad to hear that you didn't like your Born Under The Red Star tour. The reason why the tour finished earlier is because Leslie met you at the Terror House instead of your hotel. As for the historical context, we will consult with Leslie and find out what happened. Please rest assured that we will use your feedback to improve our services and we'll make sure these mistakes won't happen again in the future.
The concept of the tour is what attracted me. Plus the fact that its written/described that tour would cover free admission to the sites eg st stephens basilica and house of terror museum. Totally false information. The tour guide didnt know about it and when i politely showed him the tour description on viator, he called someone and then got the cheapest ticket for st stephens basilica entry just to the church dome(viator needs to specify that is whats meant by free admission) Further, at the retro restaurant, there is no entry/museum entry is not covered, and only coffee is provided. Retro drink is not covered. Further, for house of terror- entry to museum is not covered I spent more than 200 aud just for a nice walk along these sites with some history commentary from the tour guide, Not worth it in my opinion. Please individually visit the sites mentioned in the tour (Viator- thanks for misleading tourists on free admissions when its not available for all the sites where its mentioned it is) If you visit the sites on your own, buy admission tickets to each of these- it will still be costing less and be much better return .
Hi Suhel, thank you for sharing your feedback. There was a mistake about St. Stephen's Basilica in the tour description regarding the entry, but I'm happy to hear that our guide managed to get you in. We've corrected the mistake. Thank you again.
Very interesting tour. Julia was a great guide and we appreciated her providing details of her own experiences, which made the difficult subject matter even more real.
Brigit was a wonderful guide. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and the vast amount of knowledge my guide had.
The tour was riveting. Many thanks to Norbert whose flexibility and friendliness really enhanced our experience.
Very interesting - lots of good info - our guide took us on the subway - to the Terror Museum Jewish area; thought it was all great!
One of the highlights of our trip to Hungary was this tour! It is always intriguing to view a city as how it was before. I personally gained new knowledge and maybe even more passion towards this subject, as I am already drawn to history. Sending our tour guide the warmest regards.
This tour opened a lot of questions for me but the tour guide never hesitated to answer all of my questions. Thank you for all the patience. This tour was really unique and felt like I was brought back in time. Definitely a learning experience!
