Best day of my holiday! 10 out of 10. The destinations were breathtaking furthermore all the animals we had met were just unbelievable. I highly recommend this incredible trip to anyone, worth every penny. Also the best guides I ever met, we had been well looked after by LJ, Captain Rico and Junior, they were well informative, kept us safe at all times, took us to an amazing lunch spot- had the best ribs of my life😊 and they were also our photographers, kept offering drinks and snacks. Thank you guys! Without you would not have been the SAME experience!!
Overall this was a really fun day, but for us, not a five star day. The good: * Boat is comfortable, fast and has great choice of snacks and drinks * Each stop is fantastic. The less good: * As other reviews say, you are travelling for more than 50% of the day so more than 4 hours are on the boat listening to the skipper’s music. * Consequently that means the stops are super short. We stayed with the iguanas for 15 minutes, the sharks for 25 minutes, the pigs for only 20 minutes, the plane for 1 minute (yes), the beach for 40 minutes and lunch for an hour. * They have two boats and one is faster than the other. We were on the slower boat. We would arrive at each attraction about 5 minutes after the first boat but leave at the same time. Felt like we got the bad end of the deal. If I was a cynic I would say that there was a definite correlation between “length of stop” and “work required by crew” - ie we stayed longer at the places the crew didn’t have to do anything (beach, lunch). But we rushed the ones where they needed to be involved (unloading, feeding animals, taking photos, etc). * Lunch was not at the place advertised. But a local shack and was not “luxury”. So overall we had a fun trip for sure but I feel we didn’t really get what was promised. Only 20 minutes with the pigs (the USP of the trip) and an hour lunch where we had to wait for 20 minutes for the food to arrive (so why didn’t we spend 40 minutes with the pigs). So yes it’s fun but I felt a little misled: the timings as described were wrong and the lunch place wasn’t correct either. If it had cost $300 I wouldn’t have minded but $400 I expect 5 star and didn’t get it. Note that there was another company who did the same tour who had much faster boats (ours had 3x300hp engines, theirs had 3 x 400hp). If I did it again I’d either go with this company or I’d fork out that little extra and fly instead.
So pleased I went with this boat company for my trip I got let down last minute by another, Cameron onboard was lovely he looked after us really well the music was good and plenty of refreshments onboard we didn’t have big crowds at the stops like other companies did so happy with our experience thank you! The sharks were the best!
We enjoyed our day but it would have been better if the boats didn’t arrive all together at the activities. The company has 3 boats doing the same excursion and although we left first the 4 engine boat over took us and arrived first and always seemed to leave the activity last. When we arrived to do the feeding of the pigs and iguanas they were already there and when we arrived to swim with the sharks it was so busy and rushed. It would be better to either stagger the boats or for the boats to do different activities at different times. Our guide didn’t really get involved or interact with the guests. The guide had a new guide showing him the ropes and couldn’t even remember his name. When we passed different things to look at he sent the guide round to tell us what it was and by the time he got round everybody the moment had passed and nobody could hear clearly so we all thought something different.
Amazing ride! The water was amazing! Great staff! Highly recommend.
What a fantastic day on the water. It is an eight hour trip. You do spend long periods of time on the boat but I’m a Florida girl and there is no place I’d rather be. The views of the water are absolutely incredible. Every stop was such a unique experience between the animals, water, snorkeling, island, lunch. the boat captain and assistant were amazing, driving was impeccable. He was sure to keep us in front of all the other boats. unlimited drinks, nonalcoholic and alcoholic with plenty of snacks. Lunch was delicious as well, if you love boats, water, scenery that is beyond expectations. This is a trip for you!! Viator stream lined the process by having waivers, signed before showing up, and no need for IDs at check-in!! Took my teenage daughters on this trip and it was our best day in the Bahamas!!!
Best thing we've ever done! The Exuma boat tour was an unforgettable experience and easily one of the highlights of our trip. The crystal-clear, aqua-blue water was absolutely breathtaking. The guides and captain were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire day fun, safe, and well organized. Every stop was incredible, and the scenery was even more beautiful than we imagined. If you're visiting the Bahamas, this tour is a must-do. We would recommend it to anyone and would do it again in a heartbeat!
★★☆☆☆ I rarely leave negative reviews, but I wish someone had written this before we booked. First, the positives: the captain and crew were excellent. They were friendly, professional, organized, and worked hard throughout the day. This review is not about them—it's about the experience Aqua Shores markets versus the experience that was actually delivered. We booked this excursion because it was presented as a luxury Exuma experience. The website repeatedly emphasizes relaxing, swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying the Exumas, with beautiful imagery of guests leisurely spending time in the water. It specifically invites guests to "relax (or snorkel) on the sandbar." That was not our experience. We understood that traveling from Nassau to the Exumas requires a high-speed powerboat, and we had no issue with that. The problem was that the day was overwhelmingly transportation-focused. Most of our time was spent traveling between destinations, and each stop lasted only about 15–30 minutes. The stops felt rushed, with just enough time to get off the boat, take a few photos, and get back on. Despite the marketing, there was no opportunity to snorkel, and virtually no meaningful opportunity to relax or simply enjoy the destinations. Even Pablo Escobar's plane, one of the advertised highlights, was only viewed from the boat. Our booking confirmation also specifically stated that lunch would be at Staniel Cay Yacht Club, but we were instead taken to a much more basic local restaurant without advance notice. After I raised the issue, Aqua Shores refunded the difference they attributed to lunch, which I appreciated. However, lunch was only one part of a much larger concern. The issue was that the overall experience delivered differed materially from the luxury experience that was marketed. The onboard restroom, which was listed as an onboard amenity, was also unavailable throughout the excursion. When I contacted Aqua Shores, they explained why the itinerary is structured this way and acknowledged they are looking for ways to better set expectations for guests. I appreciate that response, but it reinforced my concern: the operational reality of this tour is not reflected in the marketing. If you're looking for a fast-paced sightseeing tour that allows you to visit several Exuma attractions in a single day, this may be a good option. However, if you're booking because the marketing suggests a relaxed, luxury day of swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying the islands, I think you'll find the experience very different from what is advertised.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We genuinely appreciate your kind words about our captain and crew, and we're pleased to hear they provided friendly and professional service throughout the day. We are sorry that the experience did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify a few points for future guests. Our Full-Day Exuma tour visits multiple iconic locations spread across approximately 180 miles of travel. While we strive to maximize time at each destination, it is simply not possible to spend an hour or more at every stop while still allowing guests to experience the highlights of the Exumas in a single day. The tour is intentionally designed as a sightseeing adventure that includes several world-famous locations rather than an all-day beach or snorkeling excursion. Regarding lunch, your booking confirmation did not state that lunch would be at Staniel Cay Yacht Club. The confirmation email said " lunch at a restaurant" not specifically Staniel Cay. Staniel cay can sometimes have long wait times which gives even less activity time so we decide which restaurant to go to depending on their reservations on the day. Even so, we recognized that this created confusion and, although we were under no obligation to do so, we refunded the lunch portion of your tour as a gesture of goodwill. We would also like to clarify that all of our vessels are equipped with onboard restrooms, including the vessel used for your excursion. The restroom was available throughout the tour. With respect to snorkeling, we do not advertise snorkeling at Norman's Cay plane wreck as a standard inclusion on our website or tour description. Snorkeling there is available upon request at the time of booking so that our crew can prepare accordingly and ensure conditions are suitable. We always appreciate constructive feedback and are continually reviewing our marketing to ensure guest expectations align with the experience we provide. Our goal has always been to showcase as many of the incredible attractions in the Exumas as possible in a single day, and thousands of guests each year enjoy exactly that experience. We wish you and your family all the best and thank you again for choosing Aqua Shores.
Excellent service provided by staff on the boat. Neil and his other two crew members were phenomenal in guiding us throughout the experience. We had an amazing time.
Amazing experience. Highlight of my trip. The crew was excellent. Rico, Neo, and Kendia were great. They were so attentive and made sure our safety was priority. It was worth every penny.
