We booked the private express colosseum tour to see the colosseum but also attend to my dad’s limited mobility needs. We did this tour in the afternoon after arriving in Rome that morning. We wanted to stay awake till evening and make best use of our time. Dario was our guide and he was fantastic! Very kind and respectful of stopping frequently so my dad could rest on his walker seat. He used these stops to explain so much about the history of the colosseum and answer any questions we had. The tour was an only an hour so definitely an express tour but that’s what we wanted. And yes because it was private it does cost more but with us moving slower, we needed to do a private tour so as to avoid holding up a group. Be mindful for those with mobility issues, the colosseum is a lot of potential walking!! We limited it as much as we could for my dad but there’s one gate in and one gate out on the opposite side so there’s still a good deal of walking with crowds. However, it’s a remarkable structure and worth the time and money to see! Thanks Dario for the excellent tour and being so personable!
We did an efficient fast tour. It was a fine value for the money and saved us a bunch of time waiting in line.
We had an amazing tour with Alexandra! She told us all about the history and kept our 7 and 9 year olds thoroughly entertained. We learned so much and had the best time. Our kids said it was the best experience in Italy!
