En uforglemmelig udflugt: opstigning med svævebane og 4x4-bus op til 2850 m. Vandreturen begynder her, og et fascinerende stop vil være det ved nogle udslukte kratere, udbrudsåbninger og lavasprækker. Vi fortsætter op til Barbagallo-kratrene i 3000 meters højde. Herfra kan du observere de majestætiske topkratere. Du vil besøge den overstrømmende munding af udbruddet i 2002, og herfra vil du gå ned langs sandstrande til Montagnola, hvorfra du vil observere Valle del Bove, en stor vulkansk-tektonisk lavning. Et betagende panorama, som få andre steder i verden kan formidle. Returen med svævebane giver dig mulighed for at tage et sidste kig på dette fortryllende månelandskab i omkring 4 timers samlet gåtur.

Rejseplan
Vi starter fra hytten til Etna Sud Alpine Guides, fortsætter med svævebane op til 2500 meter og så med et terrængående køretøj når vi 2850 meter.
Det første stop vil være udsigtspunktet over Valle del Bove, en stor hesteskoformet vulkan-tektonisk lavning beliggende i den østlige del af Etna, det er meget vigtigt fra et vulkanologisk synspunkt, da flere udspring langs væggene. På fine dage er udsigten betagende.
Et meget vigtigt stop er Barbagallo-krateret i en højde af omkring 3000 meter. Går du op langs sandbankerne, kommer du til en lavastrømskanal, der dateres tilbage til udbruddet i 2002. Går du op ad kanalen, kommer du til den sprudlende udmunding af det samme udbrud. vi fortsætter mod Torre del Filosofo (2920 meter) langs de seneste stadig varme lavastrømme (21-05-2023). Efter frokostpausen går vi langs kanten af Barbagallo-krateret og beundrer topkraterne og hele Siciliens østkyst, fra Taormina til Syracusa.
Efter gåturen på kanten af Barbagallo-krateret, inden vi starter nedstigningen, ville vi igen få mulighed for at beundre topkraterne Etna, Central Crater og South-East Crater med deres uundgåelige gasfane.
Returen med svævebane vil finde sted langs kanaler med vulkansk sand, mens du på smukke dage beundrer en betagende udsigt, der strækker sig fra den Ioniske kyst til det indre af Sicilien.

An experience you cannot really put into words. The landscape is otherworldly and the emotions you experience under an active volcano are one of a kind. Because of the ongoing eruption and the sudden bad weather, we couldn’t complete the whole tour, but thankfully Clara, our wonderful guide, made sure we got the most of the experience. She was sweet, competent and attentive, and made you curious and passionate about the volcano just like an excellent teacher would do. Will definitely come back for another experience. Amazing experience hiking up around the crater field to the rumbling of the current eruption. Very knowledgable and friendly guide. Def need a degree of fitness and be prepared to come home with volcanic ash/sand everywhere! Would recommend, we loved it

Perfect excursion. The guides are very good. Important: glasses and something to cover your mouth if the volcano is active and bring something to eat for the quick stop on the excursion.

An absolutely amazing and unforgettable experience! Our Etna tour was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Sicily. Clara was a wonderful guide – extremely knowledgeable, friendly, passionate, and professional. It was a wonderful experience, especially thanks to our guide, Clara, who accompanied us, making us have fun and experience every stage up to 3000m with enthusiasm. We were captivated by her intense passion as well as by the unique landscapes into which she transported us. It is truly true that competence makes the difference; this day would not have been so enriching and impactful if it hadn't been for our guide, who didn't let us miss a single detail: from the minerals, to the myths, to the plants that smell like lemon!!! We highly recommend this experience, especially because everything necessary for the trek is provided, allowing almost everyone to access it.
