Errichel Farm Tour

Beskrivelse

Had an amazing time feeding the animals and learning all about the different breeds of cattle, sheep and horses and what is being done to keep some of the rarer breeds from dying out and also hearing about the owners themselves and why they decided to keep the breeds they have. Really interesting and worthwhile for all ages. Of course once the your is finished you really have to stay for something to eat in the lovely dining room it would be foolish not to, the staff are so warm and friendly.
We had a great time visiting Errichel Farm! During our visit, we went on a farm tour and ate brunch at their bistro (Thyme Bistro). It is easy to find off the main road and the lady behind the counter was very friendly. We very much enjoyed learning about their sheep, pigs, horses, and various birds. We watched the pigs being fed and got to feed the birds ourselves. We also got to meet a lamb and one of our group got to bottle feed it. Our meal at Thyme Bistro was decent and was a nice follow up to the farm tour. It is worth a visit if you're in Perthshire!
Lovely visit to the farm and to feed the wonderful animals was an amazing experience would definitely recommend booking a tour.
We spent the morning with Becky, the lovely co-owner of the farm. She was absolutely fantastic with the kids and created a fun, hands-on, and educational experience. We got to feed and meet the residents of the farm: Peacocks, ducks, geese, chickens, horses, pigs, and more. We ended up with a nice brunch at the bistro. Absolutely recommend.
We had a great time on the tour. We learned a lot about keeping a working farm functioning. Great time interacting with the animals.
As a surprise for my birthday, my partner had organised activities at Errichel, and the hospitality and warmth of everyone at Errichel made it all the more special. The day began with a tour of the farm guided by the incredibly passionate Becky. Her enthusiasm for sustainable farming and high-welfare meat production was inspiring. She shared insights into their farming practices and the dedication to quality that sets Errichel apart. Becky's knowledge and love for what she does were evident in every detail she shared, making the tour both educational and enjoyable. Following the farm tour, we indulged in a cheese and wine tasting session, again led by Becky who introduced us to a delightful selection of Scottish cheeses paired perfectly with carefully chosen wines. A particularly touching moment was when Becky found out it was my birthday. She surprised me with a beautiful birthday card and a loyalty card for the deli, pre-loaded with £5 worth of points to spend. This thoughtful gesture added a personal touch to the day, making me feel genuinely celebrated and appreciated. Overall, our visit to Errichel Farm and Thyme Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of Becky's passionate and knowledgeable guidance, the delectable cheese and wine tasting, and the warm, personalised birthday surprise made it an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend Errichel for anyone looking to enjoy high-quality, ethically produced food in a beautiful and welcoming setting. We will certainly be back to enjoy more of what Errichel has to offer!
Absolutely lovely farm tour for kids and very entertaining, insightful, educational tour for grown ups too! Absolutely loved it, even despite a bit of rain on the day of our tour. Thanks again Becky!
What a wonderful morning we spent at the farm! We started with the farm tour. Becky was a thoughtful and very informative tour guide, and a joy to listen to. There were 8 of us on the farm tour (two children and 6 adults) and we all throughly enjoyed it. We got to feed the chickens and the sheep, and it was a fantastic experience all round that I would highly recommend. Highlight for us was Topsy who immediately stole all our hearts. From there we went to Thyme for lunch, food was fantastic and the setting is just lovely. Then we had a wander in the beautifully maintained grounds and the deli. Would highly recommend a visit here, it truly is a hidden gem. Will be back.
I absolutely loved the farm tour. I really recommend it and it is great for children. You get to feed the animals and the animals are nicely kept. There were horses pigs geese ducks chickens and sheep. The cafe has gorgeous food. Rebecca was a really good guide and told us lots of interesting things. I went with Ellie aged 9 who wrote this review with me (Louise 21 😂) because trip advisor wouldn’t allow a review by a 9 year old. I also was on the tour and thought it was just as interesting for adults and I would highly recommend.
We enjoyed a fabulous time with Becky on her farm today. We regularly spend time in the area and this was something new for us and was a fantastic morning. We came with our one year old boy and were met by Becky who gave us a relaxed and informal tour of the farm where we were able to meet and feed the pigs, ducks, geese, hens lambs and more. We had a great time and I would thoroughly recommend this as a great visit for families with young kids. It is definitely a unique experience for the Tay Valley area. We topped the tour off with coffee and cake in the restaurant. Toilets and baby changing facilities were top notch!
