Endangered Monkeys Watching - Red Shanked Douc Langurs

Yesterday we did the scooter tour in the Son Tra Peninsula to see the Queen of Primates, and it was absolutely amazing! Alan and Luke were fantastic guides—super friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly good at finding the best spots to see the monkeys. They even provided binoculars for us, which made the experience even better. We chose the sunrise tour, and in my opinion it’s the best time to go. The weather is cool, the light is beautiful, and the whole atmosphere is so peaceful. After the tour, we all stopped together by the roadside to enjoy some fresh fruit that Alan and Luke had brought for everyone before heading back to the hotel. It was such a nice touch! They also had a professional camera with a telephoto lens and took incredible photos of the monkeys and of us. They sent all the pictures to us on WhatsApp afterward, giving us memories we’ll keep forever. This tour is 100% worth it, and I can’t recommend it enough. Thank you, Alan and Luke, for such an unforgettable experience. We’ll definitely see you again next year!

We had an early start 5.30 am . Before starting I was a bit worried about the steep roads in Son Tra , but our 2 motorcycle’s riders Alan and Luke drove very smoothly and safely. We managed to see 3 groups of Red Langurs. I took great photos with my iPhone 17 , plus Alan and Luke send me more photos taken from their great camera. Thanks to Alan and Luke for this amazing experience.

I would like to share my sincere appreciation for the incredible experience I had with Cillian during the Red-Shanked Douc Langur safari in Son Tra. We were fortunate enough to observe several Red-Shanked Douc Langurs in their natural environment, and seeing these magnificent animals up close was truly magical. Beyond his impressive knowledge, Cillian was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive. He shared fascinating information about the monkeys, their behavior, and the conservation challenges they face. His enthusiasm made the experience even more meaningful and gave me a deeper appreciation for the wildlife of Son Tra. Everything was perfectly organized, from communication to the tour itself. The stunning views over Da Nang, the peaceful atmosphere of the mountains, and the opportunity to witness these rare animals in the wild made this one of the highlights of my trip. I have taken many tours during my travels, but this experience stands out as one of the most memorable. We had an excellent time on the monkey tour! My mom was nervous about the motorbikes, but thanks to Alan and Luke, who were very safe drivers, she loved the motorbike part. We saw lots of monkeys, including babies. Alan and Luke were knowledgeable about the monkeys and the area and gave us plenty of time to watch the monkeys and take pictures. This was definitely one of the highlights of our Vietnam trip!

Amazing experience with Alan and Vi spotting Langurs yesterday. Alan and Vi were extremely helpful, safe drivers, and had lots of great info about both the animals and the area to share. We went early morning and it was so fun riding through Da Nang enjoying the views. We were the only people there on bikes which meant we had the opportunity to stop wherever the Langurs were, it was such a cool way to spend the morning, highly recommend! Thank you Alan and Vi 😀

It was an amazing experience to witness the Red Shank Doucs in their natural habitat… Thank you to Danang Adventures and our wonderful guide @cillian_rsdl.guide for making this a memorable experience for all of us . It was an educative, immersive and thought provoking to spend time learning about their behaviour and threatened existence !!!! These beautiful creatures will linger in our memories .

My partner and I had an amazing time! We saw so many langur, it was the highlight of our Vietnam holiday and the best way to finish of our time here. Leo and Luke were exceptional guides. Can not recommend this excursion enough.

This was such a breathtaking experience, I highly recommend Cillian as a guide, he is so great, and showed me and my friends the most amazing sights. We had a long personalized tour for a very reasonable price for admission. Ate snacks and watched monkeys for hours. The scooter ride around the mountains was so thrilling and it was definitely one of a kind. I suggest anyone who is able, to do this tour.

What an amazing experience. I didn’t realise until after booking that it would be on the back of a motorbike. However this only added to my experience for the day. What an awesome way to see the countryside!! We saw many different groups of red shanked doucs, as well as a couple troops of the macaques roaming about. My tour guide Vi was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and funny. I thoroughly enjoyed the outstanding views around the Son Tra mountain, seeing the rare langurs of course, and the laughs we had along the way. I can not recommend this enough to anyone who is in the area. Phenomenal.

Cillian and Alan provided us with a great experience—taking the moped out to the mountains was super cool, and we were able to see so many monkeys!! We took the 5:30am trip and were able to see many monkeys at various parts of the mountain, lasting about 3 hours. It was a small and personable experience, my sister and I the only guests. The troops, especially the baby monkeys, were the cutest and most wondrous things ever. The guides seemed really familiar with the area, and our group felt welcomed by them. We observed the monkeys quietly so they could remain relaxed. We would definitely recommend this excursion. Plus, they take professional photos of the monkeys to share with you afterwards. Since we are staying outside of their usual pickup bounds, we paid a bit extra for the roundtrip ride but didn’t mind (100,000 vnd per guide). They also offered a meet-up option in case we didn’t want to pay the fee. Definitely check out these beautiful animals if you’re in Da Nang. Great for individuals or small groups.
