A real authentic experience with wearing kimonos and the green tea ceremony

I had a great time with Toku and his wife at the kimono shop. They made me feel welcome as I had always wanted to try out a kimono and learn how to do the Matcha ceremony properly. Trying on kimonos and picking out the right one was a wonderful experience as it was the only day I could fit it in my time in Kyoto. I got to post for photos as well as go through the ceremony myself一I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try but is worried about the language barrier! Also is located conveniently a few blocks away from the Hankyu一Kyoto line and shops.

A very special afternoon!

Thank you, @toku36com , for the most special afternoon! The fitting experience with your beautiful kimonos, the full on family shoot by your lovely wife, followed by teaching us the rituals of the traditional tea ceremony was such a lovely experience. Thank you for welcoming us into your 4-generation kimono family business and helping us create wonderful lifetime memories. Arigatō gozaimashita!

Don’t miss this!

Within in Japan for three weeks, this was hands-down one of my most favorite experiences. What an incredible opportunity to explore this culture with a true master.

10/10 Experience

10/10 experience - the owners/staff extremely kind and personable, and I left with so much knowledge about matcha, Japanese tradition, and kimonos! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Kyoto.

I think that it is one of the best experiences I've had while being in japan. Me and my family had so much fun and learned a lot of fun, and interesting things.

A great experience

A very humbling experience our hosts were very gracious and explained the history behind the tea ceremony and guided us through the whole process. We were kindly dressed in the kimono so we could enjoy the whole experience in an authentic manner. Would really recommend this experience

5-stars isn’t enough

Unforgettable experience with the most delightful hosts. Learn about the tea ceremony history and cultural importance, put on traditional kimonos and take a bunch of photos. Highly recommended, a Kyoto must do!

This was great! Far...

This was great! Far enough away from the tourist locations to feel authentic. They really made the experience special and something to remember!
