Deltag i vores Sants madtur for at tilbringe dagen med at spise dig vej gennem et mindre udforsket kvarter med en blomstrende lokal madscene og en fascinerende historie. Vi vil grave i markeder og gamle vermuteriaer, konditorier og hjemmerestauranter, men vi finder også pulsen fra Sants i nogle nutidige kulinariske projekter. Forvent ikke Gaudi-arkitektur og top 10 tapas, Sants tilfredsstiller dem, der er sultne efter alternative Barcelona.

På vores Sants madtur vil vi besøge mange af disse nabolagsinstitutioner, både gamle og nye, og få en smagsprøve på, hvordan livet i Barcelona var, før byen blev det globale hotspot, som den er i dag. Vi starter med en solid morgenmad i det nyligt restaurerede Mercat de Sants – i drift siden 1913 – og smager, hvad der er på tilbud fra sælgerne indenfor. Når vi fortsætter gennem kvarteret, kigger vi forbi nogle af dets mange madbutikker og restauranter, både gamle og nye, og smager velelskede retter fra menuer, der ændrer sig efter sæsonen. Undervejs stopper vi ved old school bodegaer og barer for at nyde noget vermut med tapas blandt vinfadene og ved små bagerier og chokoladebutikker for håndlavede slik.
Vi forlader dog ikke Sants uden et besøg på et af kvarterets mest unikke sociale og kulturelle projekter, en massiv tekstilfabrik fra det 19. århundrede, der efter årtiers nedlæggelse er blevet forvandlet af lokalbefolkningen til et travlt kulturcenter – en der endda har egen bar og mikrobryggeri. Over en drink og flere bid af Sants-mad lærer vi om historien om samfundsorganisering i Sants, og hvad der gør dette kvarter så specielt. Det er trods alt ikke hver dag, du får en chance for at gå ud af nettet, mens du stadig er i hjertet af byen.

We were a group of 3 with a fantastic guide who shared the history of Sants and the foods Catalonian’s eat daily. Well organized as All of the stops were waiting for us with tables set! Our guide served us portions from the market, specialty cheese, meats and chocolates with complete explanations of their heritage and importance in Catalonia diet. We were never rushed, and questions were welcomed. A great experience eating and drinking through Sants!

What a wonderful experience!! I can't say enough about this 1/2 day off the grid food tour. We started our vacation with it learning so much about the city and the history. Sema was such a wonderful guide; she was so knowledgable and fun and it made for a great day! We enjoyed every minute of the tour with her. We loved being in a section of the city we otherwise may not have visited.

This tour was incredible! Our tour guide Guilluame was awesome! He showed us a side of Barcelona that we never would have seen if we didn't do the tour. He was extremely knowledgeable about food, history, and the neighborhood. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and my shellfish allergy was easily accommodated. Easily one of the best and most unique experiences we have had traveling.
