The train trip was amazing, comfortable with ability to buy local foods and drinks. However, buying out tickets through TripAdvisor was a fail!!! The tickets sent were not useable on the train and it took considerable negotiation and discussion with the officials, us and our guide to rectify. TripAdvisor needs to really pick up its game! This was not a user error at our end and we were finally issues “correct and official” tickets very close to departure time. We also tried to follow through the day before as the local guide was concerned we didn’t have the correct tickets- we were resent the same information and advised this was all correct! Buyer beware!

There is a limited number of seats allocated for this train journey, and the Railway Department issues tickets approximately one month in advance. If we do not receive seat availability for the bookings made with us, we immediately inform our customers about it. We also provide them with a full refund and suggest alternative options for the same train journey. Thank you..
The train ride was stunning with amazing views of the countryside. However, it was less than perfect because we had to stand for the entire journey(about 4 hours). The train was full and even standing place was limited I wouldn't recommend booking on aviator. I thought by reservi ng seats I would be able to obtain seats Only on the morning of the trip was I informed that reserved tickets were not available. I would recommend that Travellers book through the Sri Lankan rail transport as Aviator also has to go through them

Mickey was incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful throughout the whole process. Even though our train journey could not go ahead due to limited ticket availability during the busy season, he did everything he could to help us by offering different options and even arranging a refund. His communication was excellent, and he genuinely cared about finding the best solution for us. I would highly recommend Mickey and We Lanka Tours to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. Convenient. Prompt in replying. Able to get tickets last minute. If you’re savvy enough to get tickets at station, maybe you can do that and avoid the markup. But for 15$ it was worth it for us.

The train ride between Ella and Ambewela is simply magical! We Lanka Tours took care of purchasing the train tickets for us, placing us on the right side of the train to have the best view, and sent us all the necessary information for the journey. A big thank you to them!

It was a great experience we would not want to miss. I would recommend this train ride.. The organization of the tickets was outstanding. The provider has always been available and has provided information about the trip itself and the process several times. We will book again at any time with this provider.
