East Zion Checkerboard Evening Shadow Ride

Unbelievable experience! I’ve owned horses on my Kentucky farm for most of my life and enjoy riding. However, I’ve never experienced such amazing views while sitting on a horse. Up and down the switchbacks requires some attention with in between, eyes wide open in amazement of God’s incredible handiwork all around you if you choose this ride. The two young lady wranglers were right on point encouraging both experienced and new riders to trust the horse. They even learned everyone’s name and spoke to each rider multiple times getting to know each one. This was a real day in the west that will not disappoint!

My wife & I had an Amazing time on this horseback ride led by Rissa & Madi. The views were breathtaking and the ride was so much fun. We would definitely do this again and would highly recommend. Thank you Rissa & Madi!

My wife and I have had horses on our Kentucky for 33 years but riding in Kentucky isn’t the same as a day in the west at such a scenic place. This was an adventure right out of a Clint Eastwood movie. Coming out of the pines to see a majestic view of a canyon while riding on switchback narrow trails the horse knew lfrom memory. This is where any rider learns to trust the horse! Our wranglers, Maggie and Rissa, were skilled and entertaining leading with confidence and humor. Both managed to learn every riders name and called out several times asking how we were doing. My horse, Cotton, was friendly and responsive carefully choosing every step up and down the mountain side. Don’t forget to snap a few pics during any pause or saddle check. Checkerboard Messa pops up toward the end with great beauty so enjoy!

We had a fabulous time! The horses were great and well maintained. The trail was a bit narrow and challenging but fun - the views were spectacular! Rissa was our lead guide and kept checking up on everyone and was just lovely. Gordon seemed great - didn’t interact much with him cuz he was at the front and we were at the back. Would highly recommend this activity!

The guides was amazing and beautiful they held a conversation with us and made sure my 9 year old was good... The horses was amazing and knew what they was supposed to do although we was scared the horse wasn't .. They still did they're jobs Thank you for being our first time trail riding

Wonderful, easy ride, great guide. Would absolutely recommend this experience. The horses are so easygoing and relaxed. I’m an experienced rider but any beginner can do this.

What a wonderful experience!! It exceeded our expectations! We were very inexperienced but our guides were wonderful and helped. Peyton and Rachel were wonderful guides! We were so glad we did this!

Definitely worth the money. My husband did not want to be on horseback, so I went solo with only a few rides of arena experience at a friend's ranch before hand. The girls were very knowledgeable and helpful as our guides. Almost everyone in our group had zero previous horse experience and she made us so comfortable on the ride. Be warned that the trail is on the side of the valley area. So there is an element of heights if thats something that bothers you. But its never a drop off and the horses know the trail like the back of your hand. (Cotton and I were unsure of eachother at first, but i just trusted him to do his job and he gave me some wonderful memories despite my lackluster riding skills.) We were apprehensive at first but quickly got over that and just enjoyed the insane scenery. (The ranch is it the top of a mesa area and has amazing views.) So don't be nervous or apprehensive. The guides and the horses will take care of you.

My husband and daughter felt this was their best excursion on our trip. We really enjoyed our ride and the guides were really nice and fun to talk too.
