Dette er den eneste vandretur i det hollandske landskab i Leiden-området, som også ligger tæt på de hollandske blomstermarker. Denne tur kan også kombineres med et besøg på de hollandske blomstermarker tæt på Leiden (i køretøjet)

Under denne vandretur glemmer vi ikke at besøge et par gamle vindmøller udefra, som blev brugt til at pumpe vand for at genvinde land. Nogle af dem er Broekdijk-vindmøllen og Boterhuis-vindmøllen. Vindmøllernes arbejde sørgede for, at Holland ikke blev oversvømmet med havvand. Denne gamle teknik kan læres meget enkelt, når du først ser, hvordan en vindmølle fungerer. Vi passerer også en golfbane, hvor der er masser af naturskønhed at se.
Dette er også en af de attraktioner, vi støder på under vores tur. Vindmøllen i Leiden-byen, der ligger i udkanten af byen, blev også brugt til at pumpe vand og genvinde land. Det blev også brugt i en anden fase til at lave korn. Vi besøger denne vindmølle også udefra og bruger omkring 10-15 minutter.
I begyndelsen af denne vandretur går vi mod floden Zijl gennem et roligt kvarter. I løbet af denne del ser du arkitekturen i typiske hollandske huse og lejligheder. Zijl-floden er en mellemstor flod, der løber gennem syd og vest for Holland gennem poldere. Det har et malerisk landskab, hvor folk kan nyde hele året. Vi går langs denne flod mod polderne og vindmøllerne, hvor vi vil tage nogle billeder.
Vandreturen slutter med et besøg på børnegården i sødistriktet. Her ser du flere husdyr, som du ikke vil se i dit hjemland. Guiden bringer dig endelig til udgangspunktet, hvor du tager bussen eller egen transport for at vende tilbage. Bemærk, at vandreturen i Merenwijk i Leiden er en af de unikke vandreture i Holland, som kun Holidays in Holland tilbyder.
Broekdijk-vindmøllen er også en malerisk vindmølle beliggende i Merenwijk-distriktet i Leiden. Det er også en vindmølle, som vi vil besøge udefra, og du vil også få en forklaring på, hvordan den fungerede i de tidligere århundreder. Broekdijk-vindmøllen ligger ved siden af en smuk golfbane og også ved siden af Broek-polderen. Vi vil også se begge disse attraktioner.

Highly recommend this tour for nature and animal lovers. PJ is local to the area and provided some great background on the polders. He even brought a light breakfast to enjoy on our walk. Broekdijkmolen and the children's farm (which is surprisingly large, basically a zoo) were highlights.
Great walk in the park with a knowledgeable guide. Enjoyable easy pace well worth the time an effort. It was money and time well spent.

We enjoyed this walking tour of a calm lakeland area near Leiden which we would otherwise not have seen. PJ's communication before hand was very good, giving us clear instructions of how to get to the meeting point. Don't let the fact you have to travel to the start point put you off. It was an easy bus ride away and you just need to tap your credit/debit card at the start and end of the journey to pay for it. PJ explained very well to us how the windmills had worked in reclaiming the polder land. We were also able to gain a bit of an insight into the Dutch way of life. PJ also gave us some light refreshments. The walk was, of course, very flat and would be suitable for all ages. We really enjoyed the tour.

I got my tour in Netherlands arranged by Punartha of "Holiday in Holland " and he accompanied us ina Nature walk.That was cool and his brought tea and biscuits cor us to have half way. He was very much customer oriented and caring. 🙏

Pj is an affable and informative guide who knows the land and its history quite well. The land we walked was quite scenic, and I came away with a full understanding of how the polders came about and their importance today. The break for a cup of tea as well timed also. Recommend!

We had a very pleasant walk in the good company of our guide PJ. We walked along a river, saw a mill and a farm. We had explanations about the Netherlands and our environment (the polders and others). In conclusion, a soothing and instructive walk.

It was an amazing walk in the evening with the amazing guide Punartha who was very friendly and gave us lot of explanations. This serene pathway invites visitors to embark on a journey of tranquility, where the soothing sounds of lapping water and the gentle rustling of leaves create a symphony of serenity.
