Efter morgenmaden vil vores chaufførguide vælge dig fra dit hotel og køre til Kilimanjaro National Park Londorossi Gate, som er placeret på den vestlige side af bjerget og op gennem skoven til Londorossi Gate i en højde af 2.100 m. Derefter starter du din dagstur gennem tropiske montane skove, hjemsted for en række dyr og fugleliv. Ved hjælp af din guide kan du opdage colobus-aber, crested turacos og mere. Du fortsætter op til det store Shira-plateau, på 3.400 m. Du vil nyde din frokost og fortsæt derefter til Shira 1 Camp, Lion Gorge og foden af Shira Pinnacle. Kilimanjaros ikoniske snedækkede bordplade, Kibo Peak, skal være synlig herfra såvel som nærliggende gletsjere. Det er også muligt at køre helt op til Shira-platået og derefter forsigtigt udforske de omkringliggende områder til fods, hvis du ikke er egnet til at tage længere vandring. Efter at have taget billeder og nyd den nærmere udsigt over bjerget, vil du starte nedad til Londorossi gate og senere køre til dit hotel i Moshi.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with KLM Safaris was an incredible quest journey that really deserves to be done repeatedly. As a landscape ecology and nature conservation scientist we actually did a lot, we hiked up to Mandara hut then we soared further to Maundi Crater watching a very nice view from the top of the crater to inside. Along the way to Mandara hut we saw beautiful mother nature (salient diversity of flora and fauna). The trip was also good for healthy exercising as weel getting an opportunity to discuss further research projects that can be carried out within the mountain landscape. We were nicely treated and the services were gorgeous from the start to the end. Millions of thanks to Dr. Gilead Minja and his team for generosity quality service and caring.
