Efter årtier med konflikt er Vietnam fyldt med historiske krigssteder. Vietnam-krigen havde stor indflydelse på millioner af liv fra begge sider. Der er ingen tvivl om, at en tur til Vietnam ikke ville være komplet uden at betale et besøg historiske krigssteder af interesse. Cu Chi Tunnels var ikke kun hjemsted for tusindvis af Viet Cong guerillaer, men det var også en kompliceret struktur bestående af talrige grøfter, bunkere, fælder, husly og et fantastisk luftventilationssystem. Cu Chi tunnel netværk er en omfattende labyrint af underjordiske tunneler strækker sig hele vejen til den cambodjanske grænse. De blev bygget over en periode på omkring 25 år og den første konstruktion begyndte i 1948 af Viet Minh under krigen mod franskmændene. Soldater kogte, spiste, sov, arbejdede, og endda gik i skole i disse tunneler, da konflikten rasede ovenpå, for ikke at nævne, at der var hospitaler, teatre, skoler, køkkener, alle indbygget i dette ekstraordinære tunnelsystem.

Our Cu Chi Tunnels experience was made unforgettable thanks to our guide, Phuc Long. He is a natural storyteller, and that made all the difference. Instead of just reciting facts, he wove the history into vivid stories that brought the tunnels and the people who lived in them to life. The whole group was hooked from start to finish. On top of that, he is genuinely hilarious. His sense of humour kept the energy high and the mood light, even while covering serious history. He had us laughing throughout the day, and that warmth made the experience feel personal rather than like a standard tour. He answered every question patiently and made sure nobody felt left behind. The tapioca tasting and walking through the actual tunnels were highlights, and Phuc Long gave us so much context and colour that we appreciated every moment. Long is an amazing tour guide! He is so knowledgable about the history of the Vietnam war and the contemporary politics of Vietnam, and he is very transparent about what parts of the history are true and what parts are narrativized. He is so happy to answer questions and incorporates a good amount of humor while still honoring the heaviness of the material. I could not recommend him more highly!

Really smooth tour, our guide Long was amazing, super informative, always ready to answer questions, and made it such an enjoyable tour. It’s a long journey to get to the cu chi tunnels from Ho Chi Minh, but Long made it worth it and entertaining on the bus :)

Phuc Long was an awesome guide! Answered all of our questions and was very insightful. Had a great sense of humor as well. The tunnel crawl was very fun. I am a bigger guy(about 213 lbs) and was able to get through the 100 meter crawl. Would highly recommend!!!
