We met at the pickup spot and after a 1/2 hour past meeting time someone came and got us and said that we were going with their group. It was not a catamaran and we did not get to snorkel. The tour guide was good (female) but the day was not anything like it was described. I don’t like the feeling of being misled or scammed.
Dear Myriah, Thank you for your feedback. We would like to clarify a few important points regarding your reservation, as there seems to be a misunderstanding about the nature of the experience you booked. First, we do NOT offer or mention a catamaran anywhere in our tour description or itinerary. Our experiences are conducted on specific vessels designed for this type of ocean expedition, which is clearly stated on our booking platform. Second, regarding the snorkeling activity, our terms explicitly stipulate that all water activities are strictly subject to weather and sea conditions. If the marine park authorities or our captain determine that conditions are unsafe, the snorkeling portion must be cancelled for the safety of all passengers. We always encourage our guests to carefully review the detailed tour description and inclusions before booking to ensure it aligns with their expectations. While we regret that you felt misled, the service provided was fully in line with the terms, conditions, and vessel type that were published and agreed upon at the time of purchase. Kind regards, Customer Service Team
Julian and Diego were great hosts. Both bilingual and easy to talk to. Treated my family with great respect, gave interesting information about the area, and operated a clean boat. It was a day of touring Contoy Island and snorkeling.
Contoy is beautiful in itself, but going with the guys from Isla Fun is spectacular. Everything was very neat, on time, the boat, the equipment, everything impeccable. Javi took us, made us laugh a lot, and besides being a guide, he was another companion on the trip. The tour includes a walk around the island and the food, which is exquisite. We also went snorkeling on the coral reef, and the experience is truly beautiful. The boat also includes drinks!
It's been an amazing experience. We arrived first to the island then we could walk through the visitable area without problem. During the journey we were offered drinks and also fruits that were delicious. The corals were beautiful! Very happy with the tour and with the treatment of the company!
Wonderful place, excellent service, great staff, 100% recommend.
Pleasantly surprised with this Tour, not only by how special it is and the quality of the service provided, also by the respect for the environment they care with amazing care
This is NOT your routine snorkeling trip...it is extraordinary! Our guides Julian and Diego met us promptly at the dock and we were on our way. Our tour group consisted of ten people...a great small group which allowed us flexibility to adapt to the opportunities which presented themselves to us. The boat is not a luxury cruise-liner, but this trip isn't about that. The boat ride to Contoy included a few spottings of sea turtles, which seemed to float care-free as we passed by. Once we got to the reef, we went snorkeling for about 45minutes where we saw stingrays, sharks, and many colorful fish. Julian and Diego were great at pointing out things to see along the way. Once at Contoy we spent about an hour at the calm quiet beach where only 200 people allowed to visit each day. There we saw stingrays swimming within feet of us and some unique fish, as curious about us as we were of them. The lunch was great and was followed by a 35 minute walking tour of the various bird sanctuaries on the island. The ride back to Cancun was a blast!! Picture a roller coaster of fun waves coupled with impromptu karaoke by Diego, Julian and the group. We sang the 80s and 90s while riding the waves back to Cancun. We even saw a huge sea turtle pop its head above the water to say goodbye. A brief stopover at Isla Mujeres was included, though we opted out as we had been there before. If you are looking for a booze-cruise please stay away from this experience. If, however, you are looking to really see marine life in its habitat, co-exist with it for a few hours and have a memorable experience with great guides, then sign up!
The island was beautiful, great water, great stand and unspoilt nature. Can only recommend if they want to do without mass tourism. A big praise goes to our guide, who showed us the island with a little tour and even brought us a shark in front of the diving goggles while snorkeling. (Great reef)
Great experience! The island is wonderful; I recommend everyone not to miss this experience!.
We loved that this tour was a smaller group than some that we saw. If you are prone to getting sea sick, this tour may not be for you, especially if the water is rough. The boat isn’t large and the boat ride to the island was an adventure. The waves were up and we all got wet, some more than others. We arrived at the island and there was only one or two smaller boats, so there were lots of options for shade. The water was stunning and calm, zero seaweed, exactly what you’d picture it to be, with the beach lined in palm trees. After less than an hour, much larger boats started arriving, so it was nice that we arrived earlier and had it almost to ourselves. I brought food with me because I’m not a fan of buffets, but they had everything behind glass and they dish your plate with whatever you want. The food was surprisingly really good. One of our guides took us on a tour and we learned about the mangroves, crocodiles, and some plants and insects. Then she took us to the top (it was an easy stroll up a small hill) and it was amazing to see how rough and wild the ocean was on the opposite side compared to the protected cove. There were lots of frigates flying overhead, which was cool to watch. The path also had a great photo opportunity of the beach. We really loved the experience, it was exactly what we needed.
