Vores første stop er Chichen Itza. Vi ankommer omkring åbningstiden, så udover at have det arkæologiske udgravningssted til din egen undgår du også varmen. En flersproget certificeret guide (+- 1 1/2 time) vil forklare dig om Itzáes, de gamle indbyggere i Chichén Itzá, deres imponerende 30m/98ft høje slot Kukulcán (og dets solkalender afspejlet i det), den største boldbane i Mesoamerika og krigernes tempel. Efter det guidede besøg har du +- 1 time fritid.
Efter at have besøgt det arkæologiske sted, går vi til en fjern cenote. Et roligt sted at hvile eller tage en forfriskende dukkert. Der vil vi spise frokost lavet af det lokale maya-kvindesamfund.
Denne gule by med sit kloster fra det 16. århundrede bygget på en Maya-pyramide og har det næststørste atrium i verden, er en af de første magiske byer i Mexico. Vi vil vise dig nogle Maya-strukturer, du stadig kan bestige. En af disse er den tredjestørste bygning i Mesoamerika (målt i volumen). Før vi går tilbage til Valladolid, har du mulighed for at beundre det smukke værk af en af de meget talentfulde lokale håndværkere, Izamal tilbyder: - Cocoyol: smykker lavet af lokale frugtfrø og rygsøjle af henequen. - Miniaturer: kunst i lille målestok. - Papir-mâché: fantastisk arbejde med maché-papir. - Træskærerarbejde: ret almindeligt kunstværk i Mayaregionen

An incredible day with Gilberto. An excellent guide who took us on a 10 hour excursion to Chichen Itza, cenote Yokdzonot, and the yellow city of Izamal. We learned so much from Gilberto. I felt the tour was perfectly timed, with great locations and truly memories experiences. Gilberto also takes amazing photos if you're wanting group photos.

Great experience. The tour is well calibrated. The guide (Jose) is very kind, knowledgeable and fun. We learned a lot. 100% would recommend As stated in the description of the tour, the entrance fee to Chichén Itzá is not included, but that was the only mandatory « extra expense »

Jose was an amazing tour guide. He truly cares about his Mayan culture and it showed through his knowledge of the sites that we went to throughout the day. His presence was informational, and never speaking to the history in a way that wasn’t supported by facts. We learned so much and he was a or of fun to discuss the history of the Yucatán and Mayans with. Would definitely recommend him and this trip :).

A great combo experience - José was very knowledgeable about the area as a local. Getting to Chichén Itzá before the mobs from Cancun do is definitely a bonus! There is minimal cover there during the lectures at various spots, so be sure to bring sun protection! There may be umbrellas in the transport van. The cenote was beautiful - we were a little sad that bulky life vests were required as that made it difficult to swim around very well. The water was perfect. The food was delicious. Izamal was picturesque, and it was neat to climb a Mayan pyramid. It was typical for a multi-stop tour in that you really want more time at each place to explore, but you're on a timeline. They balance it as best they can.
