We had a brilliant day starting at 9:30 am. Our four hours with Elena were fantastic from the very first bite to the feast at the end. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, fun and helpful. Elena took us to some extraordinarily fun local favourites and taught us a lot about the food and wine and olive and other cultures of this region.
Fantastic way to learn about Greek food and the options available in Chania! You’ll get to sample various cuisine and learn so much.
What a fantastic tour! Elaina our guide was so nice and accommodating. All the food was amazing and plentiful! Definitely come hungry!
We had a fabulous, well paced tour with Elena at Cretan Tasty Trails. Elena has a delightful, warm personality, who speaks perfect English and who knows Chania and the Cretan food scene like the back of her hand. She took us to half a dozen bakeries, cafes, specialty food stores, including a wonderful Cretan cheese shop, and to a delightful restaurant for lunch where we had more Cretan specialties. All in all, it was a wonderful time, very informative, and with lots of memories.
We just left the tour and Kostas was an amazing Host and tour guide throughout the morning and into the afternoon. We have been on a few tours on this trip and this was by far the BEST! The places he took us to had awesome variety and content. When we thought it might be over Kostas brought us to an outdoor restaurant for a fabulous meal of Cretian delights. Do not miss this tour!! Worth every Euro!
Helena was amazing. We saw Crete from her eyes. We had great food like the locals and learned about the history as well.
This tour was a highlight of our trip. Elena felt like a friend within minutes of meeting her. The group was small giving us a personable experience. The food options were wonderful, giving us a real taste of local foods. We had cheese tasting, olive oil and honey tasting, a stop for coffee and a fabulous lunch at the end at a place we returned to for dinner. Elena gave us great suggestions for for the rest of our vacation. We were at first worried about the length of the tour but it offered a relaxed opportunity to get to know the area, have some wonderful food and walk and talk.
We started at 9.30am so there is no need to have breakfast beforehand. We visited local bakeries for kourlouri and pies. Sampled local cheeses and oils. Stopped for coffee and ended with meze. With the local knowledge it was an excellent introduction to Chania

We highly recommend this food tour which was bought by our family as a birthday present. It was perfect. Our guide was Elena who was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and entertaining and gave us plenty of extra suggestions for where to eat and what to do. The food was delicious and we learned about Cretans and their food history along the way, such as why do they eat so much lamb when they are surrounded by a sea full of fish?
