Fun day

Had a lovely day out exploring. Staff were polite friendly and very helpful. Just a note that the trip is more laid back and less structured. If you're looking for a guided tour this may not be the option for you. Thank you for a lovely day

This was exactly what I...

This was exactly what I wanted. It combined the two things I wanted to see and couldn’t have been easier. We had plenty of time in both places and our guide was very helpful. Chania is such a beautiful city and lake kournas was stunning.

Lovely day out from rethymno!

We had a brilliant time on this trip. You get picked up from your hotel in the morning by coach. For us, this was around 9.20 and it was just over an hour to Chania as our first stop for 3.5hrs. We would have liked a little more time there as there was lots going on but we had some free time to visit tourist sites and have some lunch. Then it was around half hour back to the lake. We had just under 2hrs there so not a huge amount of time for swimming and hiking, but we would highly recommend hiring a pedalo boat for 10-15€, the highlight of our trip! The tourist company staff were lovely and helpful on the trip and also quite responsive via the messaging function on tripadvisor, but we didn’t actually receive our pickup time until late into the evening the day before. None of the website links worked for us as the website looks a little old and is blocked by iPhone, but they did eventually send a pdf with pickup info across to us. Overall was a good day out to see the sites outside rethymno!

Very nice city

Chania has a very nice old town with a port and many nice little streets. We liked it better here than in Rethymnon.

The old town has a lot of character

This town, the old town, has a lot of character, undeniably. Its maze of narrow alleys make it a must-see place to visit. In the peak season, the flow of tourists is continuous and the terraces, those of cafes and restaurants are full. An old synagogue, which is not lacking in interest, nestles inside.

Chania city & Kournas Lake

It is a stunning city, I of the most beautiful I have seen in the Mediterranean in all the countries I have been, the market is very large but sell fruits, veg, spices, herbs etc not tacky clothes etc & the people on the stalls are generous, helpful & chatty eg we bought & paid for the 3 fruits we wanted and they called us back & gave us 2 other fruits for free, we visited the harbour & old town, which was bigger than we thought & the famous lighthouse. The whole town is tidy & the water crystal clear. As regards Kournas Lake, it’s a bit of a steep walk down & back but a cafe if you want to sit & look at the view for a while

Chania City

Think Chania is too big a city. Not so much coziness factor, restaurants in a row en masse. Poor horses running around with people. Too many tourists

Operatørens svar

We feel sorry that you didn't;t like Chania. Although is a nice city and very attractive. This period a due to Corona Virus yo do not see the city alive as everywhere. Maybe next time when thing will be back to normal you can realize better what it can offers!

CHANIA_Worth a visit!

The former capital of Crete invites with its history to spend at least one day there. Whether culture, sightseeing or food, there is something for everyone. Worth it 100%. These old alleys with their great shops invite you to stroll. We will be back...100%

Nice city, not too big

Nice old town and a great port. The restaurants at the port are just looking for tourists. No real local cuisine rather mainstream pizza and gyros. Fresh fish tends to be available elsewhere at better prices. A short visit to the marinemuseum at the end of the port is worthwhile. Especially great is the old market hall in the center.

Day out to Chania

Had a great day out wandering around the alleys and streets of Chania. It gets very busy around the harbour area and the bars/restaurants charge slightly more due to their prime location. there are some lovely places up the side alleys with typical Greek food
