Veerna and Kosti were wonderful! We did this cooking class early on in our trip which was so nice to learn about Cretan cuisine before dining out at restaurants in Chania. This is a one of a kind experience and you get to learn some Cretan history as well. Everything was delicious, and the cooking is friendly to people of all experience levels. The property you do the class at is gorgeous with old olive trees, an herb garden, outdoor covered seating and cute dogs. This was one of my favorite things we did our whole week in Crete!

Our family had a terrific time at this cooking class. Veerna, Kostas and their family have really thought about how to make everyone's experience special. Everything is done outdoors in a shaded area. There were about 20 people of different ages and nationalities doing the class and we got along very well. The dishes are easy to make even if you are not into cooking. Veerna and Kostas will show you what to do! The meal included lamb, vegetables stuffed with rice, and dessert. There is also plenty of alcohol if you want it and transportation to the location for an extra fee if you desire. It's about a 20 minute drive from the harbor in Chania. Don't miss it!

This was a really fun experience. Great set up, open air, but shaded kitchen in nice setting. Approximately 20 guests of different ages and nationalities. 3 attentive and friendly hosts. Cooked different dishes and got to understand the the significance of the dishes. Then got to enjoy them. Plenty of alcohol if you wanted and lemonade and water. Our family had a great time.

Highly, highly recommend. Veerna and her family were amazing. The food was delicious. The setting was beautiful. The experience was unparalleled.

From the moment we were picked up at the port, we felt like we were part of the family. I highly recommend this experience. Whether you do the cooking class or the bread making class, you will have the best experience. This is a family of about 7 to 8 family members all working together to make your experience, feel like you are part of their family. The recipes that we made were absolutely outstanding. Do not pass up on this excursion.

My husband and I decided to go to Crete for our honeymoon. Besides spending our time on the beach, we also agreed to do some activities. My idea was to attend a cooking class, since I‘ve done that before in Italy. Both of us loved it! The meal we prepared was delicious and we learned something new about the Cretan culture. We could tell that the hosts of the cooking class were made for this! They welcomed us so warmly and we loved that they also told us a little history about Crete in connection with the meal we prepared. It was truly a unique experience and I would definitely do it again!

My son & I had the best afternoon with Veerna, & Kostas! Delicious food, great company & new culinary skills 😋 we loved cooking outdoors, under the shade of the olive tree, & the food from the wood fired oven was sensational. & of course it wouldn’t have been a traditional Crete meal without the raki! We thoroughly enjoyed this experience! The planning and hospitality were exceptional, and learning to prepare an authentic Cretan meal together in a beautiful olive grove made the day memorable. The food was plentiful and delicious, and the and eating outside in an olive grove was truly enjoyable. It was our favorite activity in Crete.

We had such a wonderful experience at Veerna’s Kitchen! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and hospitality. The class was not only informative but also incredibly fun and entertaining. Veerna has a way of making everyone feel comfortable, keeping the atmosphere light, engaging, and full of laughter. The food we prepared was absolutely delicious, and it was so rewarding to enjoy a meal we had all created together. What we loved most was that every member of our family—from our youngest to our teenager to the adults—was fully engaged and having a great time. It was the perfect blend of learning, cooking, and creating lasting memories together. If you’re looking for an authentic, interactive experience that’s enjoyable for all ages, we can’t recommend Veerna’s Kitchen enough!

Very well organized and fun cooking class conducted by a local family in their outdoor kitchen (covered veranda). The lead chef is a lively lady with a world of knowledge about the food and story behind the recipes. Great sense of humor also. The meal was delicious, the wine was homemade and nice. Overall highly recommended!!
