Cebu traditionelle bambus madlavning

Beskrivelse

I think they have a really good concept going here. Cooking out of bamboo is pretty unique. I think they could do better if they used a sturdier, wooden table rather than the plastic table and chairs. It was pretty cramped. As the participant, I basically chopped a few ingredients and put them into the bamboo where there was already pre-marinated meats and pre-measured rice, etc. I would like to have prepared the food as much as possible, rather than just chopping a few things and adding some spices. I asked for the recipes afterwards and the tour coordinator sent a few websites with how to prepare these dishes on a stove top. I think they could benefit from providing the recipes that were actually cooked. I asked about the bamboo recipes and the tour operator stopped responding to me (via whatsapp). Having their own recipe book that they could provide makes it a more personable experience and makes the participant feel like they paid for something more valuable than just someone else cooking for them and sending some recipes found on random websites. Still a cool concept but needs some tweaks to feel like you're getting the value that was paid and for a more unique experience.
The cooking experience itself was nice, the staffs were particularly friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. The organisation of the class however, was horrible. We were rescheduled twice (we were texted the morning of); on the website it was indicated that it would be a private class but it wasn't; and the organiser also never bothered to send us the recipes even after we reminded them repeatedly.
Sassy is AMAZING and made this magnificent experience one of our favorite things we did while in Cebu. She shares about the culture and answers any questions. And the food… oh my! So delish!!
We went in March of 2023 My review is way past due but this was a great beach side experience and the food we made was delicious. In fact we need that chicken adobe recipe and some bamboo. I recommend in Cebu this is a must do.
This is an experience you do not want to miss. Our guide, Lerelei, was excellent, and the food was absolutely outstanding. Lot of fun cooking and you get to take a swim while the food is cooking in the bamboo.
