The cooking class with Philip and Necian was so much fun. We contacted them in advance to work out a custom menu consisting of lechon kawali, chicken inasaal, atchara, and lumpia. Despite not being their normal recipes they made the class really fun, engaging, and most importantly delicious. The recipes weren't too difficult and should be reproducible at home if you miss Filipino food after your holiday (which you probably will, it's so good). I highly recommend this class.
Spectacular!! This cooking experience is taught by locals at a local beach/park. It is fully worth the time and money and stories. We made 4 traditional dishes and each one was amazing. When in Cebu - especially Lapu-Lapu book this adventure!! Phillip & Descian were excellent young men, taught to cook by their moms & grandmas. The food was delicious. Go hungry - you will leave full!
Phillip And Nischen were amazing hosts. They showed us how to make sinigang, chicken adobo, lumpia, ginataan and halo-halo. They also gave us a great deal if insight into the local area! Incredibly friendly and insightful fellas!
★★★★★ I had an incredible experience at this Filipino cooking class! Nescian and Phillip were absolutely amazing instructors. They were patient, welcoming, and took the time to answer all of my questions while explaining the traditions and techniques behind each dish. They made the entire class fun and exciting, and their passion for Filipino cuisine really came through in the way they taught. Everything was hands-on and easy to follow, and the food we made together was absolutely delicious. If you're visiting Cebu or Lapu-Lapu and want to learn authentic Filipino cooking in a relaxed, enjoyable setting, I highly recommend this class. It was one of the highlights of my trip!
We had the most amazing time at the Cebu Traditional Cooking Class at Beach Park Hadsan booked through Viator. Our instructors, Necian and Philip, were fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, and so passionate about Filipino cuisine. They made the whole experience fun, relaxed, and easy to follow, even for beginners. The food was absolutely incredible. We learned how to cook authentic dishes including adobo, spring rolls, fresh fish, vegetables, and halo-halo — and everything tasted delicious. We left completely full and so impressed with how flavourful and fresh everything was. If you’re in Cebu / Mactan and want a hands-on cultural experience (and seriously good food), I highly recommend this class. One of the highlights of our trip!
Very nice chefs & guides. The food was phenomenal and it was easy to talk and discuss. We talked about the local food culture and how about many other topics and had a very nice time together.
I recently attended a cooking class taught by Necain and Philip, and it was an outstanding experience! The class was well-organized and incredibly interactive, showing me and my girlfriend how to prepare four traditional Filipino dishes: Lumpia, Chicken Adobo, a flavorful fish dish, and the famous Halo-Halo dessert. What made this class truly special was that it wasn’t just about cooking—it was also informative and cultural. Necain and Philip shared fascinating insights about Filipino traditions, the origins of the dishes, and even details about the city, which added so much depth to the experience. The hands-on approach kept us engaged throughout, and by the end, we enjoyed a wonderful meal that we had prepared ourselves. If you’re looking for a fun, educational, and delicious activity, this class is highly recommended. It’s more than just cooking—it’s a cultural journey with a tasty reward at the end!
