The tour bore no resemblance to the description, it describes a tour through a vineyard with wine tasting, the reality was a strange drive through vineyards with derelict buildings everywhere, and a stop in a nearby village at a wine shop with a sip of 3 fortified wines, an expensive taxi ride around the coast not sure why it mentions admission charges we were not admitted to anything, I would not book this tour or indeed any through Viator in future. I would say that our driver was pleasant, polite , arrived on time and was profusely sorry for the whole misunderstanding , we complained with good reason and this was dismissed as not valid , astonishing really.

We would, however, like to clarify the purpose and concept of this programme, as it is not designed to be exclusively a vineyard tour. The experience was created to introduce our guests to Cascais, the Cascais region and its wines, combining the local landscape, villages, coastal area and wine heritage. The aim is to provide a broader insight into the region rather than simply visiting a vineyard for a wine tasting. We would also like to clarify the reference to the “wine house” mentioned in the programme. This refers to the Confraria dos Enólogos, an institution created to promote, preserve and protect the wine heritage of the region. The visit to this location and the tasting of regional fortified wines are therefore part of the cultural and wine-related aspect of the experience. We would also like to point out that, on this occasion, our guide went beyond the scheduled programme and provided approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes of additional touring, in an effort to give our guests a more complete experience of the Cascais region. Regarding the admission charges mentioned in the description, we understand your concern and will review the wording to ensure that the inclusions and expectations are as clear as possible for future guests. We are pleased to hear that, despite your disappointment with the experience, you found our driver pleasant, polite and punctual. We certainly appreciate your recognition of his professionalism. We regret that the programme did not correspond to what you were expecting. Nevertheless, we believe it is important to clarify that the experience is intended as a broader introduction to Cascais, its heritage, landscape and wine culture, rather than solely as a vineyard visit.
