We are genuinely sorry that you were disappointed about not entering the Blue Grotto, especially as it was personally one of the places you most wanted to see. Because your review describes the experience as “misleading,” we would simply like to clarify what Capri Deluxe includes for future travelers. First, the transportation provided to Capri was the hydrofoil/ferry service included in the tour, exactly as advertised. The private boat is the separate boat experience around Capri. Regarding the Blue Grotto, there is an important distinction: Capri Deluxe includes the opportunity to visit the Blue Grotto; it does not—and cannot—guarantee entrance. The Blue Grotto is specifically described as an optional activity, and its €19 entrance fee is clearly listed as not included. Access is independently managed and can be affected by sea conditions, crowds and waiting times. On your day, the estimated wait was approximately one hour. Waiting that long—with no certainty about when admission would actually occur—would have meant sacrificing a substantial part of the complete Capri experience for everyone on the tour. The decision to continue was therefore not because the captain and guide simply “did not want to wait.” Their responsibility was to protect the complete experience the group had booked. And that is what we would most like future travelers to understand: Capri Deluxe is much more than one attraction. It is a full-day experience designed to discover Capri by LAND AND by SEA, combining a private boat experience around the island, private transportation on Capri, a dedicated English-speaking guide throughout the day, Capri and Anacapri, the Faraglioni, the spectacular coastline and free time to enjoy the island. We completely understand the disappointment of missing the Blue Grotto when it was personally high on your wish list. At the same time, every advertised component of the Capri Deluxe experience was provided, while Blue Grotto admission was—and always remains—an opportunity subject to the circumstances of the day. Our goal with Capri Deluxe has never been to make an extraordinary island depend upon a single attraction. It is to give our guests the privilege of experiencing the very best of Capri from two completely different perspectives: from its breathtaking coastline and from the heart of the island itself. You booked our Capri Deluxe Experience with Blue Grotto, which is designed to discover Capri by both land AND sea. It includes transportation to Capri by hydrofoil, a dedicated English-speaking guide, transportation around the island, and a private boat experience around Capri. The hydrofoil is indeed a public high-speed passenger ferry. The private boat advertised in Capri Deluxe refers to the separate boat experience around Capri—not the transportation from the mainland to the island. Most importantly, Capri Deluxe is different from our dedicated “First to Blue Grotto” tour. Our First to Blue Grotto experience follows a different itinerary specifically designed to reach the Blue Grotto among the first visitors of the day and is available from Sorrento and Naples. Your Capri Deluxe experience was delivered as advertised, including the land and sea components that distinguish this tour. That said, your feedback is valuable. We have now made the separation between Capri Deluxe and our dedicated First to Blue Grotto experiences even clearer, so travelers can more easily choose the experience that best matches their priorities. Unfortunately, we cannot control Capri's summer crowds, heat or occasional hydrofoil delays.
