Vores guide vil først tage dig med til at besøge Cape Coast Castle. Cape Coast Castle var en handelspost på den vestafrikanske kyst i den moderne nation Ghana. Det ligger kun få kilometer fra et andet slaveslot bygget af portugiserne ved Elmina i slutningen af det femtende århundrede. Cape Coast Castle, der oprindeligt blev bygget af Sverige i 1650'erne, skiftede til dansk, hollandsk og derefter engelsk besiddelse i 1660'erne. I slottets tidlige årtier kredsede handelen om guld, træ og tekstiler, før engelske købmænd begyndte at søge fangne afrikanere i stort antal.
Vi besøger Kakum National Park. Gemt væk i Assin Attandanso-reservatet er Kakum National Park og Canopy Walkway, der tilbyder besøgende en spektakulær natur og en fascinerende dyrelivsoplevelse sammen med moderne campingfaciliteter. Parkens mest kendte træk er uden tvivl dens 7 hængebroer, som danner en 333 meter lang baldakingang, ophængt op til 27 meter over skovbunden fra træer, der er over 300 år gamle.

Wonderful. Patrick was a great tourguide. I was the only one on the tour. He made me feel welcome and gave me insights into the country and the sights. I've been to Ghana several times, but never to these two places. Patrick did everything he possibly could to make me feel welcome. Even helped me bargain for purchases and going out of his way to make things comfortable, to slake my curiosity about what I was seeing, and to show me things that I would not otherwise have noticed. The road to Cape Coast is under construction, and it takes an extra hour these days to get there. Patrick made the time pass quickly--and negotiated the difficult temporary road with great expertise. He was a little late picking me up, and I was concerned that somehow he had the wrong address--because I myself gave the address a bit late. Not to worry. Not only did he arrive 10 minutes after my concern started (traffic...) but also the main office replied to my anxious email within three minutes--at 6:00 AM! Excellent service. Tour guide and tour company were great. Kakum Park require good physical conditioning as there is a steep climb up multiple steps. Canopy walk could be a challenge if one is afraid of heights. Cape Coast castle was very emotional for me a descendant of enslaved Africans.
