Tag på en uforglemmelig tur til den sande spids af det afrikanske kontinent, hvor de 2 oceaner officielt mødes. Oplev en lille ynglekoloni af afrikanske pingviner på forhånd, og smag også Sydafrikas prisvindende vine med køligt klima i vinregionen Hemel n Arder. Udforsk en utæmmet moravisk by fra 1820'erne kaldet Elim, og nyd masser af fotomuligheder, mens vi krydser landets ekstreme sydkyst på denne tur. Selvom det er en lang køretur, er Cape Agulhas-turen meget mere en autentisk oplevelse med en mindre turistisk følelse for dem, der leder efter et sådant nichemarked. Betty's Bay er en kystby en time øst for Cape Town. Det var en hvalfangststation i slutningen af 1800-tallet. Senere blev den bedre kendt for sin usædvanlige beboer: den afrikanske pingvin! Pingvinerne slog sig ned ved Stoney Point-stranden i det 20. århundrede. Dette gjorde Stoney til at pege på en af 2 fastlandspingvinkolonier. Gæsterne vil have lidt tid til at gå langs pingvinstranden og se pingvinerne tæt på.
Det ville være en uretfærdighed at køre gennem en af de bedste vinregioner i landet og ikke stoppe. Hemel n Aarde (vinregionen er både tæt på havet og i en højere højde end Cape Winelands. Dette er det perfekte klima for druesorten med køligt klima. Det betyder vine, der er subtile, sprød syre, en lettere krop, og lyse frugtsmag. Dalen er i stand til at producere nogle af de bedste pinot noirs og Chardonnay-vine i landet. Din vinsmagningsoplevelse hos Hamilton Russell vil ikke skuffe.
Efter vinsmagningsoplevelsen fortsætter turen mod Hermanus. En malerisk kystby, som også er Sydafrikas hovedstad for hvalsafari. Her kan man spotte hvaler fra hvalstien langs kysterne mellem juni og november hvert år. Hermanus er også kendt for at være en af Sydafrikas gastronomibyer, og du vil kunne spise frokost her, inden turen fortsætter mod sydøst mod Elim.
Fra Cape Agulhas vil vores rejse tage os gennem en malerisk landsby kaldet Elim. Elim blev etableret i 1824 af tyske nybyggere. Det var den 3. moraviske station nær Cape Town, og meget lidt har ændret sig gennem årene. Rækker af hvidkalkede hytter med stråtag langs gaderne i denne charmerende landsby. Og alle gaderne med figentræer fører til kirken! Gæsterne vil have tid til at gå rundt og besøge byens lille rosenhave.
3 timer sydøst for Cape town City ligger den sydligste spids af det afrikanske kontinent: Cape Agulhas. Det er her, det varme Indiske Ocean støder sammen med det iskolde Atlanterhav. Den forrevne kystlinje huser over 21.000 vådområder og havfugle af forskellige typer. Havets Serengeti, opkaldt på grund af dets mangfoldige havliv, er også en del af Cape blomsterrige. Det rigeste blomsterrige i verden! Omkring 2000 forskellige plantearter er hjemmehørende i dette område, og over 100 er endemiske. Mens vi er her, vil du have god tid til at udforske kystsletterne. Du kan også besøge Cape Agulhas fyrtårn; den næstældste i Sydafrika. En gåtur op til toppen af fyrtårnet giver et fugleperspektiv over byen og museet i bunden.

This is a great tour exploring the cape outside of Cape Town. It is a long tour, but our guide, Danson, tailored the day to our liking. We were able to skip places that were not of interest to us and enjoy more time at other places. Danson is very knowledgeable about the entire area and made the long drives feel much shorter with his informative description of each place and its history. If you have time, I’d highly recommend this tour and Danson as your guide. He really made experience very enjoyable.

The trip to Cqpe Agulhas was PERFECT. Well curated with adequate time to have lunch, spend time to see penguins, walk along the beach, climb the lighthouse. Our guide Peter was AMAZING! knowledgeable about not just the tour but also Cape town and South Africa as a whole. He was engaging but not overwhelming. Even with my teenage children. Very professional. My interaction with Pauline was very professional, she answered all my questions and enquiries. I would highly recommend this tour with this company. We could not have enjoyed more.
