Canyoning Experience - halv dag

A must when traveling to Sao Miguel! Our guides Z and Alberto made everyone feel safe and we all had a ton of fun!

Arrived and put on wetsuits and boots. Then we hiked some to get to the different adventures. I would say it was a little more technical than I anticipated but it was so much fun! Felt very safe-had 5 children with us ages 11-6 and they did very well. Our tour guides were very friendly, very good with the kids, made us feel very safe. I would recommend to anyone looking for a fun adventure!

My wife and I were very pleased with our Canyoning level 1 experience with Tomas and Alberto. These guys were super supportive with my wife throughout this experience. I would highly recommend this for anyone that wants to conquer the fear of heights and getting the jungle experience on an volcanic island. Way to go Azores Adventure Island!!

Amazing experience, not the faint of heart. I includes a zip line, natural water slide, cliff scaling and free fall jumping, along with extreme hikes through the bush to get to each. Guides Alberto and Tomas were super knowledgeable, experienced and friendly. Would highly recommend and would do again.

This experience was the highlight of our entire vacation! I was not expecting it to be a private tour, but it was, and it made the journey all the more enjoyable. Our guides, Tomas and Alberto, were the greatest team!!! We booked the “Fun Canyoning” trip because my husband really wanted to jump the high waterfalls. I was nervous for WEEKS about that part of the trip, but our guides were so patient and worked with me through the higher jumps… although, I could tell they really just wanted me to push through it and take the leaps haha. I wanted to push through as well, but the mind is a powerful thing and can inhibit the ability to overcome fear. I had to rappel down one of the falls and put the guides through some extra work. I also had to climb down to lower points on two others, which they were not keen on me doing because it was so slippery. But, it’s what I wanted to do and they helped work me through it! Traversing through the slippery rocks and dense wilderness were the highlights of this trip for me (not the jumping). I did eventually gain the courage to jump the last few waterfalls. My husband enjoyed the thrill of every jump and also enjoyed trekking the dense jungle-like terrain. If you are not physically fit, cannot swim, and are scared of climbing through deep, unkept trails and steep terrain, this is not for you! It was certainly a challenge! This was a medium/high level experience. My husband and I have never canyoned, nor have any prior rappelling experience, but we exercise 4-6 days of the week and were able to keep up physically. They told me I should level down because I cannot jump 😅. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the island! You will love it!

What a brilliant day! We had the 1/2 day (moderate) canyoning trip and were wildly lucky to have 2 guides (DD and Felipe) with just the 2 of us. The hike to and from the canyon is part of the adventure on some wild trails. The canyon is gorgeous- basaltic volcanic rock and lush greenery. There are a bunch of (slightly terrifying but exhilarating) jumps into clear, fresh pools. DD rappelled my partner on a few of them when she decided the adrenaline rush of a jump was too much. The guides are charming and very capable. The canyon was all our’s - we saw no one else the whole trip.

A singular experience that is fun, safe, and challenging (in a good way!). The guides were excellent, friendly, encouraging, and not-at-all pushy. The result of which was a fabulous experience that will stay with me and ranks as one of my most valued experiences in Europe. Bravo!!!

Excellent trip, really friendly and helpful guides Tomas and Alejandro. All the gear fitted perfectly. 14 and 12 year old loved it. Would highly recommend.

Very active excursion. Hiking and canyoning. Jumping into the rivers and streams from varying heights. Super fun but also not for anyone with significant fear of heights or water. The guides are amazing. We had Tomas and Alfredo. They were the sweetest and funniest. Always made us feel safe and talked me personally off the ledge quite literally when I was panicking about jumping. This particular tour was not as challenging as it can be so if you want harder features then research some more.
